Head of Research and Innovation

About the Role

A leading organization in Qatar is looking for an experienced leader to design and lead a research and innovation agenda with the goal of enhancing women's involvement, performance, health, wellbeing, and leadership in sports.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate the research and innovation strategy including governance, standards, and metrics for measuring progress.
• Develop and oversee a high-caliber research center or platform.
• Direct research projects, commissioned studies, pilot initiatives, and innovation efforts.
• Convert research findings into actionable programs, policies, frameworks, and strategic advice.
• Forge collaborations with academic institutions, government agencies, sports entities, funding organizations, and industry partners.
• Manage research-related budgets, collaborations, grant processes, ethical adherence, and data governance.
• Act as the organization's representative at pertinent research, policy, and industry events.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 8 to 10 years' experience in research, innovation, strategy, or evidence-based program creation with a minimum of three years in leadership roles.
• Proven track record in founding and managing research entities and crafting their strategic plans.
• Preferred background in women's sports, sport development, public health, wellbeing, participation, or performance fields.
• Strong skills in both qualitative and quantitative research and translating findings into practical applications.
• Possess at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field; master's degree preferred, PhD considered an asset.
• Excellent command of English; knowledge of Arabic is an additional benefit.
