Head of Accounting

Overview

Our client, a prominent manufacturing and distribution company based in Sharjah, UAE, is seeking a seasoned Head of Accounting. This role presents a significant leadership opportunity within a prosperous and expanding organization, offering a competitive monthly salary up to AED 35,000 along with additional benefits.

Primary Duties

• Direct and oversee daily accounting operations including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes in compliance with IFRS standards.
• Supervise cost accounting activities, inventory valuation, and stock management across manufacturing functions.
• Handle product costing, Bill of Materials (BOM) validation, and inventory reconciliations.
• Lead external audits, ensure VAT compliance, and prepare statutory financial reports.
• Enhance financial procedures, internal controls, and ERP system utilization.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a finance team of six professionals.
• Liaise with operations, supply chain, and commercial departments to bolster business performance.

Candidate Profile

• Holds a degree in Accounting or Finance; professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CMA are preferred.
• Brings approximately 10 or more years of accounting experience in manufacturing, FMCG, industrial, logistics, or distribution sectors.
• Demonstrates deep familiarity with IFRS, financial reporting, cost accounting, and inventory management.
• Experienced in managing month-end closings, audits, and regulatory compliance.
• Has prior leadership experience supervising accounting teams.
• Proficient with ERP software such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Experience with Big 4 accounting firms is advantageous but not mandatory.
