Role Overview
The Regulatory Compliance team integrates regulatory knowledge with data analytics to ensure products meet legal standards and provide genuine customer value. The Head of Regulatory Compliance for the French entity will be responsible for guaranteeing continual compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, developing and implementing policies and controls to prevent violations, and fostering a strong culture of compliance across Revolut.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and lead the Regulatory Compliance function to ensure full compliance with local and international banking regulations such as PSD2, MiFID, MiCA, and GDPR.
- Collaborate closely with the Chief Compliance Officer, Financial Crime, and Group Regulatory Compliance teams to align best practices and comprehensive regulatory coverage.
- Design and maintain a scalable compliance program consistent with group standards and regulatory expectations.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to integrate compliance measures into platforms and customer processes.
- Track regulatory changes and develop risk mitigation controls accordingly.
- Create and update compliance risk assessments, policies, and procedures tailored to local and group requirements.
- Ensure teams are adequately trained and aware of their compliance duties.
- Engage with regulatory bodies and coordinate on accurate, timely regulatory reporting with the Regulatory Affairs team.
- Support business inspections, reviews, and audits alongside Regulatory Affairs and Internal Audit.
- Advise senior management on compliance risks and deliver regular compliance reports.
Required Qualifications
- At least 10 years’ experience in regulatory compliance.
- Background in major banking institutions or rapidly growing fintech companies.
- In-depth knowledge of the French regulatory framework including best market practices and regulator expectations.
- Expertise in regulations such as PSD2, MiFID, MiCA, and related legislation.
- Direct experience interacting with leading EU regulatory authorities.
- Strong leadership skills with proven team management capabilities.
- Excellent analytical judgement and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively within complex, international environments.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with GDPR and data privacy regulations.
- Experience working with French regulators like ACPR, AMF, and CNIL.
- Fluency in French is advantageous.
