Job description
About the Company
Curate Group is an energetic business focused on events and live experiences. It produces memorable moments that connect people through large-scale festivals, immersive concerts, cultural programmes and corporate events, often in collaboration with leading brands.
One of its key brands, Lumos Experiences, is a distinctive live-entertainment concept known for candlelit musical concerts staged in unusual venues. The company is expanding quickly, with multiple shows taking place each week across new cities and countries, and this role supports continued growth in the Washington, D.C. region.
Role Summary
The Head of Regional Events is responsible for the overall performance of the assigned region. The position oversees bookings, marketing, operations, finance, sales and customer experience so that each show is commercially successful, operationally strong and continually improving.
This is a senior local leadership role. You will act as the main decision-maker in the region, own execution and team alignment, and ensure Lumos standards are met consistently. Working closely with the London-based headquarters, you will execute regional strategy and lead on-the-ground teams to deliver a polished five-star experience.
The role begins with a hands-on approach and will develop into broader regional leadership as the market grows, while keeping full ownership of regional operations. Weekend availability is required, as attendance at key shows is essential to maintain operational and brand quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the region’s overall performance and growth, acting as the senior local authority and ensuring delivery matches company goals.
- Partner with headquarters to create and implement regional business plans that improve commercial results, operational quality and guest experience.
- Review ticket sales, pricing, audience data and event performance, then turn insights into practical actions with the central team.
- Identify, secure, negotiate and contract venues, serving as the main contact for venue partners and suppliers until this responsibility moves to a dedicated hire in approximately three months.
- Direct planning and execution for all regional events, ensuring smooth coordination across creative, operational and on-site teams.
- Build, recruit and manage a strong events team, including staffing, scheduling, onboarding and training.
- Create training materials, playbooks and operational tools that help the region scale with consistency and efficiency.
- Improve processes, systems and logistics to support reliable event delivery and regional expansion.
- Oversee production teams and technical partners to ensure excellent sound, lighting, staging and on-site execution.
- Manage regional budgets carefully to control costs while preserving high production standards.
- Produce regular reports on KPIs, sales and customer feedback to support ongoing improvement.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activity, using market insight to shape strategy and suggest enhancements.
- Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders, venues and external partners to keep operations aligned and running smoothly.
Requirements
- Background in event operations, production or event management, ideally in live entertainment or hospitality.
- Confident self-starter who takes ownership, works with accountability and keeps projects moving.
- Comfortable making decisions in high-pressure situations and finding practical solutions quickly.
- Strong planning and project management ability with the capacity to handle multiple priorities at once.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience managing budgets.
- A valid driving licence and the flexibility to work some weekends and travel to different locations when required.
- Working knowledge of Google Suite, AI tools and team collaboration platforms.
Perks and Benefits
- Competitive salary, with flexibility based on your experience and skill set.
- Eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus tied to both company and individual performance.
- Travel costs for show attendance are covered.
- 11 days of annual leave plus national holidays, along with additional days off at Christmas.
- One extra day of annual leave for each year of service, up to 3 additional days.
- Birthday leave, which can be taken on your birthday or another day in the same month.
- Health insurance coverage.
- 401(k) retirement plan.
- Maternity and paternity leave policy.
- Flexible hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
- Strong opportunity for personal development and career growth as the company expands.
