Overview
Sunda International is seeking a Head of Recruitment to oversee talent acquisition efforts tailored for the manufacturing sector. This role is based in Weija, Greater Accra Region, Ghana, and involves crafting recruitment strategies aligned with business growth and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive talent acquisition plans matching manufacturing and corporate growth targets.
- Conduct workforce planning to maintain the availability of skilled professionals, semi-skilled personnel, and labor for manufacturing functions.
- Manage recruitment operations for factory and corporate roles including production, engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and administrative positions.
- Lead critical hiring initiatives for managerial and technical roles, enhancing recruitment efficiency and hiring quality.
- Provide leadership to the recruitment team by setting clear KPIs, developing capabilities, and overseeing performance.
- Administer relationships with external recruitment vendors such as agencies and labor suppliers, ensuring effective service delivery.
- Establish partnerships with educational institutions to develop campus hiring, apprenticeship, internship, and graduate training programs.
- Drive employer brand initiatives through participation in job fairs and recruitment marketing to attract top manufacturing talent.
- Leverage recruitment data analytics to monitor metrics like time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and retention rates, using insights to optimize hiring strategies.
- Implement and refine applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other digital HR tools.
- Ensure adherence to labor laws and internal policies across all recruitment activities, supporting audits and mitigating hiring-related risks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
- Professional HR certifications such as CIPD, SHRM, or HRCI are considered advantageous.
- Demonstrate between 8 to 15 years of HR or talent acquisition experience, including at least 3 to 5 years within manufacturing or industrial sectors.
- Experience in managing recruitment teams across large-scale or multiple site operations is essential.
Technical and Soft Skills
- In-depth knowledge of workforce structures pertinent to manufacturing settings, covering both blue-collar and white-collar roles.
- Exceptional expertise in managing end-to-end recruitment cycles, workforce and succession planning, as well as organizational design.
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS), human resource information systems (HRIS), and HR analytics platforms.
- Excellent leadership qualities with strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.
- Strategic thinker capable of effective execution under high pressure in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
Industry Knowledge
- Well-versed in labor legislation and employment compliance specific to the manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of outsourcing, labor contracting, and managing contingent workforce models.
- Understanding of manufacturing operations and workforce dynamics in production environments.
