Overview
The Head of Public Sector Partnerships is a senior leadership role focused on crafting and driving the strategic direction for collaborations with governmental entities that support the mission and objectives of the organization. This position demands a deep understanding of public policy and sector-specific challenges, enabling the creation of innovative, mutually beneficial partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy a holistic strategy for public sector partnerships aligned with organizational aims.
- Build and nurture relationships with government officials, agency heads, and community partners.
- Identify and negotiate strategic alliances to further both organizational and public sector goals.
- Guide the development of collaborative initiatives including grant proposals and joint projects leveraging community resources.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless partnership execution and communication.
- Track partnership effectiveness, presenting progress reports to leadership and optimizing initiatives accordingly.
- Promote the organization’s mission and partnership value publicly in various forums.
- Stay updated on sector trends through research and policy analysis to identify new opportunities.
- Ensure all partnership activities comply with regulations and ethical standards, maintaining transparency.
- Represent the organization at relevant public sector events to boost engagement and visibility.
Experience and Skills Required
- Over 15 years of experience in partnership development or public sector engagement with substantial leadership experience.
- Expertise in public sector policies, funding avenues, and regulations at multiple government levels.
- Proven success managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects and initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate partnership prospects, risks, and outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to influence senior officials.
- Leadership skills fostering diverse, innovative, and accountable teams.
- Strategic planning experience managing large initiatives within public or nonprofit sectors.
- Understanding of socio-economic influences on public sector partnerships.
- Adaptability to evolving public sector environments and emerging industry trends.
- Preferred: Master's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
