Role Overview

Join us as Head of Procurement in the Mannheim area where you will actively shape our supply chain. This role goes beyond managing orders; you will strategically and operationally lead procurement, ensuring material availability and supplier management at our production site. Your leadership will have a significant impact on delivery reliability, cost structures, and inventory sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop procurement and warehouse teams.
  • Take full responsibility for both strategic and operational purchasing activities.
  • Ensure dependable material supply for production needs.
  • Build and maintain long-term supplier relationships, negotiating prices and contracts.
  • Manage and evaluate supplier performance concerning quality, punctuality, and costs.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures and efficiencies.
  • Optimize inventory levels and working capital.
  • Contribute to new product launches, engineering changes, and make-or-buy decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with production, engineering, quality, logistics, and finance departments.
  • Analyze key metrics and continually improve purchasing and supply chain processes.

Candidate Profile

  • Several years of experience in procurement or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in leadership or readiness to take on a management role.
  • Strong negotiation skills and excellent communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and relevant procurement metrics.
  • Methodical, analytical, and problem-solving approach to work.
  • Exposure to technical production settings is advantageous.
  • Fluency in German and English is required.
