Role Overview

We are seeking a Head of Preschool to lead and manage the Early Years program located in Adenta, Greater Accra Region. This full-time, onsite position entails responsibility for academic oversight and operational management of the preschool curriculum aligned with Cambridge standards. The role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality teaching, fostering a safe and nurturing environment, supervising preschool educators, and facilitating their professional development. Key duties include lesson plan oversight, tracking student progress, supporting inclusive practices, and maintaining strong communication channels with families and guardians.

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic and operational leadership for the Early Years program to ensure excellence in teaching and learning aligned with Cambridge standards.
  • Manage, mentor, and support preschool educators by coordinating training and conducting classroom observations with constructive feedback.
  • Oversee effective lesson planning, monitor student progress, and implement inclusive educational practices.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with families and guardians to support student development.
  • Collaborate with the school leadership team on strategic initiatives, admissions processes, and community engagement focused on the preschool division.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven leadership skills with experience in mentoring, coaching, and managing preschool teaching staff.
  • In-depth knowledge of Early Years education, child development, and age-appropriate teaching methods.
  • Experience working with international or Cambridge-aligned Early Years curricula.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to interact effectively with children, families, staff, and the community.
  • Ability to design, implement, and assess learning programs that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and holistic development.
  • Strong organizational skills for timetable management, documentation, and reporting responsibilities.
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and child protection while fostering an inclusive and culturally responsive educational setting.
  • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or related discipline; a relevant Master’s degree or professional certification is beneficial.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in a preschool leadership or a similar senior educational role.
  • Alignment with GSIS core values of Knowledge, Truth, and Integrity, with a passion for nurturing young learners into responsible global citizens.
