Role overview

This opportunity is being handled for a partner company, which will review applications and manage the next stages directly. The employer is hiring a Head of People in the Netherlands.

In this senior leadership role, you will help design, grow, and strengthen the people function for a fast-scaling technology business with teams spread across multiple regions. Your focus will be on building a strong recruiting engine while also advancing people operations, talent development, and organizational design systems that can support rapid growth. You will act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on how the company attracts, develops, and keeps top talent in a highly competitive market. The role is both strategic and operational, requiring you to contribute at a high level while also staying close to execution across recruiting, performance management, and workforce planning. A strong talent bar, scalable processes, and sustainable growth will be central to your work in a fast-moving, data-led environment.

Key accountabilities

  • Take ownership of the full People function, including recruiting and people operations, across a distributed global organization.
  • Build and implement a recruiting strategy that consistently brings in excellent talent while protecting a high-density talent culture.
  • Work with executive leaders on workforce planning, organizational structure, compensation planning, and prioritizing headcount.
  • Create and refine systems for performance management, leadership growth, and career progression.
  • Improve hiring operations, candidate experience, and recruiter productivity through scalable processes and tools.
  • Establish reporting and metrics that give clear visibility into hiring performance and overall people health.
  • Encourage the use of automation and AI-driven workflows within recruiting and people operations.
  • Help preserve and evolve company culture so it stays aligned with values and operating principles during expansion.
  • Partner with Finance and senior leadership on pay planning and investment decisions related to the organization.
  • Coach and develop the People team to drive strong execution, accountability, and ongoing improvement.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in people leadership, recruiting, talent acquisition, or people operations in high-growth technology companies.
  • Demonstrated success in creating and scaling recruiting functions in fast-paced, high-talent environments.
  • Strong experience collaborating with executive teams on organizational design, workforce planning, and talent strategy.
  • Background in leading and developing high-performing People or Recruiting teams.
  • Solid knowledge of modern recruiting systems, talent operations, and performance management frameworks.
  • Analytical approach with the ability to use data to improve decisions and optimize processes.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive influence skills.
  • Comfortable balancing strategic leadership with hands-on operational delivery.
  • Experience working in distributed or remote-first organizations.
  • Interest in applying AI-enabled tools and workflows to transform recruiting and People Operations.
  • Additional advantage if you have worked in SaaS, developer tools, fintech, or other rapidly scaling technology settings.

Benefits

  • Competitive equity participation in a venture-backed, fast-growing technology company.
  • Fully remote setup with flexible working arrangements.
  • Recommended annual leave of 4 to 5 weeks for rest and recovery.
  • Allowance for home office equipment plus an annual learning and development stipend.
  • Long-term equity exercise window of up to 10 years.
  • Chance to shape and expand a global People function at a pivotal growth stage.
  • A culture that values ownership, high standards, and continuous improvement.
  • Exposure to executive-level decision-making and company-building at scale.
