Job description

Role overview

This opportunity is on behalf of a partner organization, which will handle all applications and the remaining hiring stages. The employer is seeking a Head of People to be based in Spain.

In this senior leadership position, you will shape and grow the people function for a fast-scaling technology company with teams spread across multiple geographies. Your mandate will include creating a strong recruiting engine, strengthening People Operations, and building the talent development and organizational design foundations needed to support expansion. You will work closely with executive leaders to define how the company attracts, develops, and keeps outstanding talent in a highly competitive market. The role is very hands-on and combines long-term strategy with day-to-day operational delivery across recruiting, performance management, and workforce planning. You will help preserve a high bar for talent while supporting sustainable growth in a fast-moving, metrics-driven environment focused on scalable team and system design.

Key responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the full People function, covering Recruiting and People Operations, for a globally distributed business.
  • Build and implement a recruiting approach that consistently brings in top-quality talent while protecting talent density.
  • Work with the executive team on workforce planning, organizational structure, compensation strategy, and headcount decisions.
  • Create and refine frameworks for performance management, leadership growth, and career progression.
  • Improve hiring operations, the candidate journey, and recruiter productivity through scalable processes and systems.
  • Set up meaningful metrics and reporting to improve hiring visibility and broader organizational health.
  • Lead the rollout of automation and AI-supported workflows across recruiting and People Operations.
  • Support and evolve company culture so it stays aligned with values and operating principles during rapid growth.
  • Partner with Finance and leadership on compensation planning and investment decisions related to the organization.
  • Coach and develop the People team to strengthen ownership, execution quality, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in People leadership, recruiting, talent acquisition, or People Operations in high-growth technology companies.
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling recruiting functions in fast-paced, high-talent environments.
  • Strong experience collaborating with senior leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, and talent strategy.
  • Background in leading and developing high-performing People or Recruiting teams.
  • Solid understanding of modern recruiting systems, talent operations, and performance management frameworks.
  • Strong analytical approach with the ability to use data to guide decisions and improve processes.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive influence skills.
  • Comfort operating as a hands-on leader across both strategic and execution-focused work.
  • Experience in distributed or remote-first organizations.
  • Strong interest in AI-enabled tools and workflows for transforming recruiting and People Operations.
  • Additional advantage if you have experience in SaaS, developer tools, fintech, or similar fast-scaling technology environments.

Benefits and additional information

The package includes competitive equity in a venture-backed, high-growth technology company. The role is fully remote with flexible working arrangements. Recommended annual time off is 4 to 5 weeks for rest and recovery. You will also receive a home office setup allowance and an annual learning and development stipend. The equity exercise window extends up to 10 years. This is a chance to define and expand a global People function at an important growth stage, within a culture that values ownership, high performance, and ongoing improvement, while also giving you direct exposure to executive decision-making and company-building at scale.

Application and data processing notes

Applications are reviewed through an AI-assisted matching process to speed up and standardize evaluation against the role’s core requirements. The shortlist is shared with the employer, and their internal team manages the final interviews, assessments, and hiring decisions. Personal data submitted with the application may be processed for candidacy evaluation and shared with the hiring employer under applicable data protection rules, including GDPR. This is based on legitimate interest and pre-contractual measures, and applicants may request access, correction, deletion, or objection to processing. AI tools may also support resume review, response analysis, and inconsistency checks, but final decisions are made by people.
