Role overview

This is a leadership opportunity with a partner company, which will oversee applications and the later stages of the hiring process. The role is based in the United States.

You will lead the People function for a fast-scaling, globally distributed technology business. The focus will be on creating and strengthening the recruiting engine, while also advancing People Operations, talent development, and organizational design so the company can grow efficiently. In this position, you will advise senior leadership on how to attract, develop, and keep top talent in a highly competitive market. It is a practical leadership role that blends long-term strategy with day-to-day execution across hiring, performance management, and workforce planning. You will be expected to help preserve a high talent standard while supporting sustainable expansion in a data-led, fast-moving environment.

Key accountabilities

  • Own and expand the full People function, including recruiting and People Operations, for a distributed global organization.
  • Create and implement a strong hiring strategy that keeps a steady pipeline of exceptional talent without lowering talent quality.
  • Work with executive leaders on workforce planning, organizational structure, compensation decisions, and prioritization of headcount.
  • Establish and refine systems for performance management, leadership growth, and career progression.
  • Improve hiring operations, candidate experience, and recruiter productivity through scalable processes and tooling.
  • Create reporting and metrics that improve visibility into hiring outcomes and broader people metrics.
  • Encourage the use of automation and AI-supported workflows in recruiting and People Operations.
  • Help sustain and evolve the company culture so it remains aligned with values and operating principles during rapid growth.
  • Partner with Finance and leadership on compensation planning and investment decisions related to headcount and org design.
  • Coach and grow the People team to promote ownership, strong delivery, and ongoing improvement.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in people leadership, recruiting, talent acquisition, or People Operations in high-growth technology companies.
  • Proven ability to build and scale recruiting functions in fast-paced, high-talent environments.
  • Experience advising executive teams on organizational design, workforce planning, and broader talent strategy.
  • Background in leading and developing high-performing People or Recruiting teams.
  • Strong knowledge of modern recruiting systems, talent operations, and performance management practices.
  • Analytical approach with the ability to use data to guide decisions and improve processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with strong stakeholder management and executive influence.
  • Comfort with a hands-on leadership style that spans strategy and execution.
  • Experience in distributed or remote-first work environments.
  • Interest in using AI-enabled tools and workflows to transform recruiting and People Operations.
  • Helpful background in SaaS, developer tools, fintech, or similarly fast-growing technology businesses.
