Position Overview
We are presenting a premier opportunity to join a globally recognized and established spirits company renowned for its long-standing presence and success in both on-trade and off-trade markets. The role of Head of National On Trade is strategic and pivotal, tasked with propelling growth of an iconic portfolio comprising premium and luxury spirits across the on-trade sector nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement comprehensive on-trade strategies focused on enhancing sustainable growth, increasing market share, and boosting profitability across the brand portfolio.
- Oversee delivery of annual commercial plans ensuring targets relating to revenue, volume, distribution, and rate of sale are fully met.
- Manage and refine the route-to-market strategy by fostering robust partnerships with national on-trade accounts including wholesalers, managed groups, hotel groups, and significant hospitality operators.
- Drive key negotiations and maintain strategic relationships securing listings, menu visibility, pouring rights, and commercial contracts that elevate brand presence and accessibility.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing and Brand teams to orchestrate superior activation programs that enhance consumer engagement and brand expansion.
- Lead launch campaigns for new product developments within the on-trade channel successfully growing product footprint.
- Identify evolving market trends, customer needs, and competitor dynamics to tactically guide channel strategy and expenditure prioritization.
- Administer channel budgets, forecasts, and manage investments to maximize returns efficiently on commercial spending.
- Constantly track and optimize performance indicators including distribution coverage, sales velocity, customer outcomes, and profitability.
- Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-achieving on-trade team focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous advancement.
- Serve as the senior leadership figure for on-trade operations, influencing cross-departmental stakeholders and championing excellence in customer and consumer relations.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a minimum of 10 years’ senior sales experience within the drinks industry.
- Flexible to be present in the London office approximately 10 days each month.
- Proven track record of crafting and executing impactful sales strategies resulting in significant revenue growth.
- Exceptional leadership capabilities with experience managing teams to surpass sales objectives.
- Strong skills in communication, negotiation, and relationship development.
- Highly analytical with adept problem-solving skills, employing a data-driven approach to decisions.
- Willing and able to regularly travel nationwide to meet clients, partners, and internal teams.
