Position Summary

The Head of Marketing role centers on leading the brand strategy and commercial launch of D-PLEX100, an extended-release surgical anti-infective product aimed at preventing surgical site infections within hospital settings. This senior position leads marketing efforts for inpatient, DRG-reimbursed products requiring institutional formulary approvals, collaborating closely with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Sales, Regulatory, and Program Management teams. The role oversees a small marketing team and agency partners to ensure effective brand positioning and launch readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement comprehensive US brand strategy for D-PLEX100, including positioning, messaging, and integrated marketing plans aligned with reimbursement pathways and corporate goals.
  • Develop and oversee execution of launch and ongoing hospital-focused marketing campaigns, ensuring compliance and timely delivery of promotional materials.
  • Track brand performance metrics such as formulary access, protocol adoption, and account uptake to inform strategic adjustments.
  • Leverage primary and secondary market research to derive insights on surgeons, pharmacy decision-makers, and healthcare institutions.
  • Craft an account-level adoption strategy focusing on formulary approval and protocol inclusion, creating compelling P&T submission tools and pull-through plans.
  • Collaborate with Market Access to ensure alignment on pricing, coding, DRG economics, and reimbursement structures, addressing both clinical and budgetary stakeholders.
  • Train and equip field teams with consistent institutional value messaging targeting hospital pharmacy directors and infection control leaders.
  • Lead cross-functional launch readiness activities, coordinating timelines, training, and promotional materials in line with regulatory and reimbursement milestones.
  • Manage lifecycle marketing efforts including budget allocation, indication expansion planning, competitive assessment, and franchise training.
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage direct reports, fostering marketing excellence and ensuring strategic delivery.
  • Act as the primary marketing liaison with hospital sales forces, key opinion leaders, and external agencies to maintain brand alignment and market engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Life Sciences, Business or related discipline required; advanced degree (MBA or higher) preferred.
  • A minimum of 12 years' experience in pharmaceutical or biotech marketing, with at least 6 years focused on US hospital, surgical, or anti-infective products involving DRG reimbursement and institutional adoption pathways.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing marketing teams and agency relationships in a dynamic launch environment.
  • Proven track record of brand ownership through strategy development, integrated planning, and successful product launches.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Sales, and Regulatory teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 20–30% for conferences, meetings, and field engagements.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience marketing hospital anti-infective or surgical inpatient products with formulary-access governed adoption.
  • Expertise with inpatient reimbursement models including MS-DRG, NTAP, and coding strategies.
  • Knowledge of antimicrobial stewardship and infection-prevention initiatives.
  • Exposure to marketing drug-device combination products or novel delivery modalities.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods, stand, walk, talk, and hear as job duties require.
  • Occasional use of stairs, elevators, and ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to operate telephone, keyboard, and handheld devices.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary package including annual bonus aligned with company performance.
  • Incentive compensation for sales roles with potential to exceed targets.
  • Car reimbursement and fuel allowances for sales personnel.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and prescription insurance.
  • Hybrid work model allowing two remote days per week except for certain functions.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with dollar-for-dollar company match up to 5%.
  • Generous vacation, sick/wellness days, and holiday schedule, including year-end closure.
  • Tuition reimbursement supporting continuing education.
  • Peer recognition platform celebrating employee achievements.
