Role Summary

The Head of Marketing will spearhead the US brand strategy and market launch for D-PLEX100, a novel extended-release surgical anti-infective designed for preventing surgical site infections. Reporting to the VP, NA Commercial Brand Executive within the ARGO hospital-focused franchise, this role focuses on executing brand positioning, launch readiness, and ongoing marketing across hospital and surgical environments where adoption depends on institutional formulary approvals by Pharmacy & Therapeutics committees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead U.S. brand strategy including messaging and value proposition aligned with DRG/NTAP reimbursement pathways.
  • Plan and manage product launch and sustained marketing campaigns ensuring compliance and timely deployment of materials.
  • Track brand metrics such as formulary access, protocol uptake, and market trends to adjust strategies.
  • Commission and analyze market research to gather insights from surgeons, pharmacists, and institutions.
  • Design institutional adoption strategies including formulary submission tools and pull-through plans targeting P&T and value-analysis committees.
  • Collaborate with Market Access, HEOR, Medical Affairs, Sales, Regulatory, and external agencies for cohesive commercialization and education efforts.
  • Oversee launch readiness activities coordinating cross-functional teams and timelines tied to regulatory and reimbursement milestones.
  • Manage product lifecycle budgeting and prioritization for current and future indications.
  • Recruit, guide, and develop a direct team of two brand marketing professionals, driving performance and capability growth.
  • Serve as a strategic liaison interfacing with field sales, KOLs, external partners, and alliance stakeholders to ensure aligned brand messaging.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Life Sciences, Business, or related fields; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 12 years in pharma/biotech including 6 years in US hospital marketing of DRG-reimbursed products requiring institutional approval.
  • Experience leading people and managing launch strategies in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional partnership and agency management.
  • Willingness to travel 20–30% for conferences, meetings, and field engagement.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in anti-infective, surgical, or inpatient buy-and-bill product marketing.
  • Expertise in building P&T formulary strategies and navigating inpatient reimbursement coding such as MS-DRG, NTAP, HCPCS/J-code.
  • Experience launching in-licensed or novel drug-device combination products.

Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods and perform frequent standing, walking, talking, and hearing.
  • Capability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and use telephones and handheld devices.
  • May require climbing stairs and other miscellaneous job duties.
