About the Marketing Operations Team
The Marketing Operations team maintains and enhances the critical shared infrastructure used by marketing and sales development teams. This includes systems for managing leads, prospect data, campaign production, and marketing and sales development technologies. The team supports three main vertical channels: inbound and outbound sales, digital marketing, and live events. Collaborating closely with Demand Generation Systems, Marketing Operations ensures that marketers and sales development representatives worldwide can concentrate on revenue generation without operational hindrances.
Role Overview
The Head of Marketing Operations will lead a vital team responsible for powering Stripe's growth. Duties include setting strategic direction, tackling operational and system challenges, and nurturing managers and individual contributors. This position requires close partnership with teams across Marketing, Sales Development, Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Data Science. The direct team comprises 15-20 global marketing operations professionals, and an additional 25-30 production specialists report indirectly.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure excellence in operations and systems supporting inbound/outbound sales, digital marketing, and in-person events.
- Collaborate with Demand Generation Systems to develop and manage technologies for digital campaigns, events, and sales development.
- Guarantee precise lead routing aligned with sales strategies, marketing approaches, and timing requirements.
- Maintain adequate account coverage and high-quality sales and marketing contact databases.
- Deliver high-quality digital marketing campaigns efficiently and rapidly.
- Act as the senior marketing operations representative in cross-functional initiatives involving Sales Development, Sales Operations, Revenue, and Regional Marketing.
- Build and sustain a high-performing marketing operations team.
- Define strategic objectives and key results for the Marketing Operations unit, aligned with overall marketing and company goals.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Over 10 years of B2B marketing or revenue operations experience, with direct involvement in enterprise marketing technology platforms (e.g., Marketing Automation, CRM, sales engagement, data management).
- At least 5 years managing people, including managers and teams of 10+, with experience leading globally distributed teams.
- 3+ years working in a global B2B environment supporting hundreds of marketers and sales development representatives.
- Proven success in designing and scaling operations teams, managing ambiguity, and leading cross-functional programs.
- Demonstrated ability to improve B2B marketing operations quantitatively.
- Strong skills influencing senior stakeholders and aligning multiple sales and marketing groups.
- Advanced analytical capabilities to diagnose operational issues using data, set goals, and measure program effectiveness.
- Experience creating AI prototypes to address marketing operations challenges and deploying AI solutions within sales development or marketing teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Over 15 years of experience in B2B marketing or revenue operations with enterprise tech stack expertise.
- More than 10 years of direct people management including large, distributed teams.
- 5+ years in global B2B roles supporting extensive marketing and sales teams.
Work Location and Environment
This position offers a hybrid work model with the option of working remotely if located at least 35 miles (56 kilometers) from a Stripe office. Office-based employees are expected to spend at least half their working time on-site monthly to enable collaboration and learning. Remote employees can attend office meetings and events but primarily work from home. Stripe does not reimburse relocation expenses for remote work.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated annual base salary for this role in the US ranges from $202,200 to $303,400. For sales-related roles, this includes on-target earnings that combine base salary and target commissions or bonuses. Salary ranges may vary depending on candidate qualifications, experience, and location. Additional benefits may include equity, bonuses, a 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision coverage, and wellness stipends.
