Job description
Role Overview
AMMD is looking for a senior marketing leader to take full ownership of growth, brand, and the operating system behind both. This person will be responsible for building a high-performing marketing function that compounds over time and for turning Dr. Myers’ clinical reputation into efficient, profitable customer acquisition and retention. The role covers the complete funnel, including brand, paid acquisition, lifecycle, content, eCommerce, and the analytics that connect them, with accountability for blended CAC, LTV, contribution margin, and overall growth.
This is a steward-of-the-brand position for a physician-led company. Dr. Myers’ medical authority, published work, and patient-care experience are central to AMMD’s value, and this role exists to amplify that authority without compromising it. The Head of Marketing will work closely with Dr. Myers to keep the brand credible, trusted, and clinically defensible while driving measurable business growth.
The ideal candidate is both strategic and highly operational: capable of building a 12-month growth plan from scratch and also hands-on enough to evaluate media performance, challenge a CRO roadmap, improve a campaign brief, and make smart channel bets. The role partners with the CEO, COO, Dr. Myers, and a cross-functional team to ensure that brand, performance, and content are tightly aligned.
Scope and Reporting
- Reports to the CEO.
- Direct reports include the Director of eCommerce, Head of Content, Lifecycle/Email-SMS Lead, Paid Media Lead, and Social/Community Lead, with additional hires expected as the function expands.
- Key cross-functional partners include the CEO, COO, Dr. Amy Myers, Operations/Fulfillment, Customer Experience, Finance, Product/Supplement Innovation, and the SEO agency.
- Owns the marketing P&L, blended CAC, LTV, contribution margin, new-customer and subscription revenue, brand and editorial voice, the full-funnel growth roadmap, the marketing technology and measurement stack, and the team cadence needed to deliver results.
What You Will Own
Growth strategy and P&L
You will set the annual marketing strategy, define quarterly priorities, allocate budget across channels, and hold the function accountable for revenue, CAC, LTV, payback, and contribution margin. You will also build the growth model that links traffic, conversion, AOV, subscription attach, and retention so investment decisions are grounded in economics rather than guesswork. In partnership with Finance and Operations, you will create forecasts and align demand planning with media and promotional calendars to avoid overbuying or underbuying. You will also be expected to present performance clearly to executive leadership, explaining what drove results, what missed, and where the next investment should go.
Physician-led authority and clinical credibility
You will place Dr. Myers at the center of the brand strategy and translate her clinical authority, books, podcast, and Inner Circle into acquisition, conversion, and retention. You will partner with her directly on thought leadership, social presence, media, and speaking while protecting both her voice and her time. In partnership with the Head of Content, you will create and maintain a clinical-accuracy and claims-review process so every campaign, advertorial, and asset is medically accurate, aligned to protocol, and defensible before launch. You will also turn Dr. Myers’ clinical frameworks into compelling marketing for audiences such as gut, thyroid, hormone, immune, and sleep without oversimplifying the medicine or exaggerating claims.
Paid media and acquisition
You will oversee paid acquisition across Meta, Google, YouTube, and newer channels, with responsibility for both scale and efficiency as well as the testing engine that improves creative and offers. Working closely with the Director of eCommerce and Head of Content, you will shape the advertorial, quiz, and landing-page strategy by audience and condition. You will also own attribution and measurement, establishing a practical and defensible read on incremental revenue using an MTA, MMM, or Triple Whale-style stack.
Brand, content, and lifecycle
You will own the brand position, voice, and creative standard that make AMMD distinctive and trusted, in partnership with the Head of Content and Dr. Myers. You will ensure that paid media, email/SMS, social, content, and on-site experiences all reinforce a single narrative across campaigns and launches. You will oversee lifecycle revenue with the team responsible for email/SMS, segmentation, flows, retention, and reactivation, all with a focus on protecting LTV. You will also help shape the editorial roadmap and AI-assisted content processes so the team can produce accurate, on-brand content at the pace growth demands.
eCommerce, subscription, and retention
Together with the Director of eCommerce, you will direct the growth agenda for the site and subscription business, including on-site conversion, average order value, upsells, bundle strategy, subscription attach rate, and churn. You will ensure acquisition and conversion are treated as one integrated system so the traffic purchased is matched to the highest-converting experience. Subscription is a core part of the model, so you will be expected to grow attach rate and LTV while making retention a company-wide priority.
Team, operations, and compliance
You will build, manage, and develop the marketing team by setting standards, priorities, and operating rhythms such as briefs, sprints, reviews, and retros that help specialists work as one compounding unit. You will own the marketing technology and data environment, including analytics, attribution, ESP/SMS, CRO, and reporting, and you will manage agencies and freelancers against clear scopes, service levels, and KPIs. You will also enforce clinical accuracy and compliance across all marketing, ensuring materials are medically sound and aligned with DSHEA and FDA/FTC requirements for supplement marketing and structure-function claims, in coordination with Dr. Myers, the team, and counsel.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in DTC marketing, including a minimum of 3 years leading a full-funnel marketing function spanning acquisition, lifecycle, brand, and eCommerce for a business generating $25M+ in DTC revenue.
- A clear track record of profitable growth, with impact on blended CAC, LTV, payback, and contribution margin rather than only spend or reach metrics.
- Practical expertise in paid media, especially Meta, Google, and YouTube, plus lifecycle marketing through email and SMS, along with creative and offer testing.
- Strong working knowledge of measurement and attribution tools such as GA4, Northbeam, Triple Whale, or Rockerbox, and comfort managing the unit economics of a subscription-based DTC business.
- Experience with Shopify-based eCommerce and a subscription platform such as Recharge, Skio, Stay, or a similar solution, including hands-on opinions about conversion, AOV, attach rate, and churn.
- Proven people leadership experience, with a history of building teams across multiple disciplines and improving the performance of the people you manage.
- Success marketing a founder-led or expert-led brand, ideally one grounded in physician, clinician, or science-led authority, where credibility is a major growth driver.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate data, clinical insight, and customer insight into a compelling leadership narrative.
Preferred Background
- Experience in supplements, functional medicine, beauty, skincare, or another DTC category with subscriptions, regimens, and claim-related complexity.
- Working knowledge of DSHEA and FDA/FTC compliance for supplement marketing and structure-function claims.
- Experience building quiz-based funnels, advertorials, and personalized recommendation journeys by audience or condition.
- Comfort working with a physician-founder where clinical authority and brand voice are central to growth, along with the judgment to protect that trust under commercial pressure.
- Experience using Claude AI as a workflow and productivity multiplier, including voice training and reusable systems.
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary plus a performance bonus tied to marketing and growth KPIs.
- A contract arrangement may also be considered.
Application Instructions
Applicants should send a résumé and a brief note, either by email or Loom, describing a specific growth bet they personally led. The note should explain what they noticed, what they changed, what result it produced, and what they would approach differently next time.
