Role Overview

The Head of Marketing for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) is pivotal in shaping and executing a comprehensive marketing growth strategy. This includes crafting operator-focused strategies, expanding brand and portfolio reach, driving digital transformation initiatives, and spearheading demand generation efforts to secure UFS’s leadership in the highly competitive foodservice market.

Positioned on both the ANZ Leadership Team and the UKI-ANZ Product Unit Leadership Team, this leader is accountable for establishing a forward-thinking marketing organization, promoting sustainable growth through innovation fueled by insights, leading impactful communication and trade activations, and embedding data-driven decision-making throughout the marketing function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the ANZ marketing strategy aligned with global and regional UFS priorities.
  • Contribute marketing insights to Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and consistently meet defined financial objectives including growth targets, market penetration, and funnel effectiveness.
  • Explore and capitalize on emergent growth opportunities in new segments and channels such as chains, digital customer acquisition, and diverse cuisines.
  • Customize global strategies for relevance and impact within local markets.
  • Direct the portfolio strategy spanning core and emerging segments to foster growth.
  • Drive innovation discovery and pipeline management using insight-led processes ensuring a robust funnel to support expansion.
  • Implement top-tier brand campaigns designed to boost penetration, brand reach, market share and support innovation goals.
  • Create and oversee integrated demand generation strategies touching all operator engagement points.
  • Lead customer marketing and channel strategies targeting key sectors like Casual Dining, Quick Service Restaurants (QSR), Aged Care, and Catering.
  • Ensure flawless operator experiences across both physical and digital pathways.
  • Advance UFS propositions, including commercializing the Future Menus platform within the ANZ region.
  • Champion digital marketing and e-commerce efforts by developing and refining digital strategies and driving conversion through chef-focused content.
  • Utilize market, operator, and customer insights to guide strategic choices and optimize commercial outcomes.
  • Promote analytic-driven prioritization and decision-making to maximize business value.
  • Establish strong category growth frameworks and support external representation by the Category Director.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a competent marketing team equipped with capabilities in digital, data, innovation, and commercial marketing.
  • Cultivate a performance culture centered on accountability, agility, continuous learning, high engagement, and organizational health.

Profile & Experience

  • Extensive senior marketing leadership experience, preferably within the FMCG or foodservice industries.
  • Demonstrable success in driving growth through strategic brand, portfolio, and innovation management.
  • Strong command of digital marketing, data analytics, and demand generation methodologies.
  • Proven ability to convert market and customer insights into actionable commercial results.
  • Experience navigating complex matrix organizations balancing global and local dynamics.
  • Excellent leadership qualities and capacity to influence key stakeholders.
