Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Head of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) to lead and expand the Corporate Development function at a Berlin-based technology scale-up on a strong growth trajectory. This leadership position involves shaping the M&A team structurally and operationally while guiding all phases of the acquisition process domestically and internationally.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and establish the Corporate Development organizational structure and team.
- Identify, approach, and evaluate potential acquisition targets both within Germany and internationally.
- Create detailed company valuations, financial models, and transaction frameworks to underpin strategic investment decisions.
- Manage the full M&A cycle from initial contact through to successful signing and closing.
- Lead and coordinate complex due diligence assignments with involvement from internal and external stakeholders.
- Take the lead in drafting and negotiating Letters of Intent (LOIs), purchase offers, and acquisition contracts.
- Work closely with the board, executive management, and international business units to implement growth strategies.
- Support integration steps for acquired companies ensuring structured onboarding processes.
Candidate Profile
- University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related fields.
- Proven professional background in M&A, Corporate Development, Private Equity, or Investment Banking.
- Strong expertise in financial modelling and corporate valuation techniques.
- Experienced in managing complex due diligence and transaction processes.
- Demonstrated success with buy-and-build or roll-up strategies.
- Excellent negotiation skills and project management abilities.
- Entrepreneurial mindset coupled with strong self-drive.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
- Fluency in both German and English languages.

Additional Information
The employer is a technology-driven Berlin-based scale-up currently expanding its M&A capabilities. Offered compensation includes an attractive package with a fixed salary up to 110,000 euros, supplemented by a performance-based bonus depending on experience and qualifications.
