Role overview
Mitre 10 MEGA Invercargill is looking for an experienced logistics leader to take charge of its warehousing operations in Southland, New Zealand. This is a full-time position of 43 hours per week, with responsibility across Inwards Goods, the Distribution Centre, and Delivery functions.
The role suits someone who enjoys a practical leadership style, understands retail logistics, and can help deliver a safe, accurate, and efficient stock flow that supports both customer service and overall business performance.
Key focus areas
- Lead a team of nine across inbound goods, distribution, and delivery activities.
- Put strong processes in place to improve accuracy, speed, and service quality.
- Oversee stock handling so all movements are secure, well controlled, and correct.
- Maintain health and safety standards and make sure requirements are followed throughout the operation.
- Work closely with store leadership to strengthen customer satisfaction and support store results.
What the role involves
- Providing day-to-day leadership and motivation for the logistics team.
- Improving systems, workflows, and team capability through continuous improvement.
- Managing inventory control and core operational procedures.
- Using a hands-on style and leading by example on the floor.
- Making sound decisions and solving problems proactively across multiple systems.
What you need to succeed
- Demonstrated leadership background in logistics, warehousing, retail operations, or transport.
- Good computer skills and clear communication abilities.
- Confidence working with several systems at once.
- A strong focus on health, safety, and process improvement.
- Solid understanding of stock control and operational processes.
- A practical, front-line leadership approach.
Working pattern
This is a Monday to Friday role with early morning starts. Weekend work may occasionally be needed to support the logistics team.
