Role Overview
This pivotal leadership position combines responsibility for the strategic IT direction and overarching cybersecurity governance of the company. As both head of IT and acting in a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) capacity, the successful candidate will lead daily IT operations while safeguarding the business from evolving cyber threats, managing compliance audits, and spearheading innovative AI security frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end onboarding and offboarding for all global personnel, ensuring smooth allocation and removal of equipment and system access.
- Oversee procurement, life cycle management, distribution, and upkeep of all company hardware assets.
- Design and maintain network infrastructure, including office Wi-Fi and connectivity solutions.
- Lead corporate identity systems, access controls, single sign-on, and multi-factor authentication setups.
- Handle vendor partnerships, billing, renewals, onboarding, and vendor optimization strategies.
- Implement and maintain Microsoft Intune device policies supporting a cloud-focused environment.
- Collaborate with Revenue Operations, Data, and Platform teams to architect system integration requirements.
- Direct continuous SOC 2 compliance audits, financial security assessments, and third-party partner evaluations.
- Serve as the main technical liaison for stringent partner audits (e.g., Amazon) and integration compliance processes (QuickBooks, Google, Xero).
- Create, update, and enforce corporate information security policies and standards with cross-department cooperation.
- Establish and govern AI security frameworks, permissible usage policies, and technical safeguards.
- Maintain and enhance enterprise security tools and vendor relationships, including cloud security and endpoint protection technologies.
- Organize and supervise annual third-party penetration tests, prioritizing risk remediation.
- Act as the escalation point for security-related inquiries from customers, sales, engineering, and support teams.
- Coordinate with legal advisors on data privacy, incident response, and compliance matters.
- Develop and promote a comprehensive internal security awareness and training program to uplift company-wide security standards.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum five years of leadership experience in IT operations or security functions within a scaling SaaS or tech company across multiple regions.
- Proven team leadership capabilities fostering professional growth among technical specialists.
- Direct experience overseeing SOC 2 or equivalent compliance programs, audit preparation, control design, remediation, and engagement with auditors and executives.
- Strong understanding of AI governance and security to create relevant policies and assess technical inputs.
- Capability to devise and lead security tooling strategies involving cloud posture management and endpoint detection and response.
- Experience managing third-party penetration testing, prioritizing vulnerabilities, and ensuring engineering accountability.
- Proficient at handling security escalations involving external parties.
- Exceptional skills in stakeholder management at senior leadership levels and translating technical risks into business language.
- Effective vendor and budget management expertise.

Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is between $160,000 and $195,000 NZD.
