Position Overview

This leadership role is within the Cybersecurity & Technology Controls (CTC) group under the Chief Information Security Officer's organization, emphasizing safeguarding the firm by enabling business continuity, stability, and resilience. The Head of Cybersecurity and Technology Policy for the APAC region will direct the formulation and execution of strategies addressing cybersecurity, technology policy, and regulatory challenges in the financial sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct Technology and Cybersecurity Policy and partnership efforts across APAC.
  • Engage directly with regional policy makers and regulatory bodies to promote firm priorities and manage legislative and regulatory risks.
  • Evaluate emerging government policies, regulations, technology trends, and industry initiatives to formulate effective engagement strategies with stakeholders.
  • Anticipate and prepare for regional regulatory, political, and policy developments affecting technology and cybersecurity sectors.
  • Support the regional Chief Information Security Officer by providing insights on regulatory and public policy updates.
  • Analyze impacts of regional policies on the company's global cybersecurity and technology frameworks and communicate findings to central leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Government Relations, Compliance, Legal, Data and Analytics, and Third Party Risk Management on key policy initiatives.
  • Establish and nurture external relations with public sector entities, trade bodies, think-tanks, academic institutions, and consortia to advance cybersecurity and technology policy interests.
  • Manage the creation and distribution of materials facilitating engagement with external stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Public Policy, International Relations, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience with financial and cross-industry technology and cybersecurity regulation and government policymaking in the APAC region, coupled with knowledge of international relations.
  • Demonstrated success in executing strategic policy programs and managing relationships with regulators, industry groups, and other stakeholders.
  • Capacity to effectively bridge cybersecurity and technology teams with cross-functional partners including government relations and legal divisions.
  • Strong analytical abilities to interpret regulatory changes and evaluate their implications for the firm.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex issues for diverse audiences.
  • Result-driven mindset with a proactive, action-oriented approach to identifying opportunities and delivering outcomes efficiently.
  • Strategic thinker skilled at prioritizing multiple competing issues and managing tasks effectively.
