About the Role

Our client is a prominent food manufacturing company with an international presence, delivering premium products to customers across more than 100 countries. With a rich heritage and ongoing commitments to innovation, manufacturing excellence, and sustainability, the organisation is well-regarded for its operational standards and continuous improvement efforts. They are recruiting a Health & Safety Manager responsible for overseeing the Health & Safety function across two manufacturing sites. Reporting to the Head of Site Operations, this position involves providing both strategic guidance and operational leadership to embed safety as a key organisational priority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead health and safety strategy across two production sites, ensuring uniform governance, compliance, and best practices.
  • Drive the development and ongoing enhancement of Health & Safety systems, policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant legislation and regulatory standards by conducting audits, risk assessments, and governance activities.
  • Manage thorough investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses with comprehensive root cause analyses and corrective action implementation.
  • Collaborate with operational leadership to integrate Health & Safety measures into everyday manufacturing, organizational changes, and business planning.
  • Provide Health & Safety leadership for engineering and capital projects, ensuring compliance throughout design, build, and commissioning phases.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree, diploma, or professional qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field.
  • Chartered IOSH membership (CMIOSH) or actively pursuing this status.
  • Proven Health & Safety leadership experience in manufacturing, food production, FMCG, or industrial settings.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Irish Health & Safety laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated skill in conducting audits, inspections, investigations, and compliance initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influence capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Possession of a full, clean driving licence with the willingness to travel regularly between sites.
