About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned Head of IT to lead and manage our technology operations on-site in Miami, Florida. This full-time contractor position offers an opportunity for a skilled IT leader to balance strategic management with hands-on technical responsibilities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise the IT department, ensuring all duties are well-defined and effectively carried out.
- Manage IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and security systems to ensure reliability, scalability, and data protection.
- Oversee help desk and ticketing processes to guarantee timely IT request handling and resolution.
- Provide coordination for both on-site and remote technical support for internal teams and clients.
- Work closely with executive leadership to develop and execute IT strategies aligned with company goals.
- Maintain organized tracking and security of IT assets, credentials, and documentation.
- Enhance internal workflows to increase team productivity and task delegation efficiency.
- Manage vendor partnerships and assess new technologies to improve performance and service quality.
- Enforce cybersecurity protocols, access controls, and disaster recovery plans.
- Maintain clear communication with C-level executives on critical IT issues and operational transparency.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline; Master’s degree advantageous.
- At least 8 years of experience in IT leadership or management roles.
- Expertise in IT infrastructure management, security, cloud platforms such as Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, and server administration.
- Proven leadership of small teams, with a track record of process improvements and thorough documentation management.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to make prompt, well-informed decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and leadership capabilities to effectively handle multiple priorities and foster cross-functional collaboration.
- Must be based in Miami and available to work on-site daily at the Miami office.
Work Schedule and Compensation
Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time. Compensation is offered as a contractor rate and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
