Role Overview

They are currently searching for a proactive Head of Human Resources to lead and manage the entire HR function worldwide. This fully remote role encompasses employees across Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China, the UK, and the US, handling both onsite and remote teams. The position requires ownership of establishing, managing, and scaling HR operations in a dynamic, fast-growing environment.

Key Duties

  • Manage and oversee all global HR functions including Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partnering, Employee Engagement, Learning & Development, Payroll, Compensation & Benefits, and overall HR operations.
  • Lead recruitment processes for diverse roles in technical, commercial, and corporate sectors, ensuring quality and consistency across regions.
  • Collaborate with founders and senior leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, succession and leadership development, and performance management.
  • Implement effective performance management, feedback, and development systems that are practical and widely adopted by managers.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives that support alignment, retention, and execution without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Act as a hands-on HR Business Partner for senior management, advising on daily HR matters, performance issues, and organizational change.
  • Manage global payroll, compensation, benefits, and employment agreements with accuracy, compliance, and fairness.
  • Ensure HR compliance, contract management, policies, and legal obligations across multiple countries in cooperation with external consultants or Employers of Record.
  • Develop and continuously improve HR systems and processes that scale with business growth.
  • Recruit and mentor HR staff over time, focusing on accountability and effective execution.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing end-to-end HR functions within a rapidly expanding international company.
  • Strong practical orientation, capable of functioning at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Experience overseeing HR across multiple countries, combining local entities, remote teams, and third-party employment models.
  • Expertise across talent acquisition, performance and employee relations management, compensation & benefits, payroll, and HR operations.
  • Sound business judgment and the ability to make pragmatic decisions under uncertainty.
  • High ownership and initiative, ready to directly address and resolve challenges.
  • Capability to partner effectively with founders and senior leaders in a fast-paced environment with high expectations.
