Role Overview
The Head of Management & Training role involves collaborating with the Head of Operations to develop, maintain, and deliver the company's training and personnel management programs. This responsibility includes overseeing training standards, handling disciplinary matters, facilitating communication, data analysis, and problem resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure alignment of training and management targets with company values and operational needs.
- Perform needs assessments to maintain a minimum 10% buffer in all fleets.
- Deliver training and management activities compliant with company directives and policies.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to managers and trainers, ensuring adherence to training protocols.
- Review and recommend improvements to instructional materials for all programs.
- Develop, approve, and implement new training procedures while ensuring KPI adherence.
- Conduct professional, timely instruction consistent with global best practices.
- Maintain accurate training records and documentation within internal systems.
- Conduct monthly performance evaluations and handle disciplinary processes as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant laws.
- Engage with external stakeholders as part of operational activities.
- Innovate and propose improvements to management and training methods.
- Champion the company's Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality values.
- Report incidents such as accidents, theft, and equipment issues to relevant parties and ensure legal follow-up.
- Communicate vital company and market information internally to management and stakeholders.
- Execute other tasks assigned by the Head of Operations or company leaders.

Educational and Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Finance, Economics, or Business Management.
- Advanced degrees (Honours, Master’s, or MBA) are considered advantageous.
- Minimum five to ten years’ experience in training and management roles.
- Practical experience operating articulated vehicles, specifically HOWO SINO models with splitter gearboxes.
- Familiarity with triaxle, pup, and super-link trailers.
- Certification as a Trainer and in Train the Trainer programs.
- Certification in Dangerous Goods handling.
- Knowledge and experience with transport management software.
- Must be a Zambian citizen.
