About the Role
Our partner, a leading international family-owned enterprise specializing in electrical connection and automation technology with over 9,000 employees worldwide, is looking for a Head of Global IT Infrastructure based in northern North Rhine-Westphalia. This position provides a unique opportunity to actively shape the future direction of the company's global IT infrastructure amidst a comprehensive transformation and to take on a key leadership role in an international setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop two specialized infrastructure teams focusing on Network and Data Centers, overseeing a total of 17 team members including international colleagues, supporting both their technical skills and personal growth.
- Drive the strategic advancement of the global IT infrastructure, steering the transition towards a modern, service-oriented IT organization, and lead the migration to sustainable cloud and hybrid cloud environments by continually refining infrastructure and operational models.
- Continuously evolve service and operational models by managing external service providers and guiding the department's transformation from a hands-on operational team to a strategically managed unit.
- Standardize processes and working methods within global IT infrastructure, establish sustainable governance frameworks and methodologies to enable an efficient, service-oriented, and scalable international infrastructure organization.
Candidate Profile
- Proven leadership experience in managing IT infrastructure teams with a respectful and empowering approach that fosters team development and effectively manages change.
- Solid expertise in transitioning traditional infrastructure and operational models towards modern cloud and hybrid cloud platforms, such as Azure.
- Ideally possess strong knowledge in IT Service Management (e.g., ITIL), governance, process and provider management, and developing service-oriented operating models.
- Demonstrated capability in managing external IT service providers and technical partners with transparent service and performance management supported by KPIs and SLAs.
