Head of Freight

Role Overview

Ultimate Peaks Talent & Strategy is in search of an accomplished and proactive Head of Freight to direct all freight and logistics activities for our client. This pivotal leadership position will enhance efficiency, cost management, and service quality throughout the supply chain, guaranteeing prompt and dependable transportation of goods.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and execute detailed freight and logistics strategies that align with the organization's overarching business goals
• Oversee complete freight processes encompassing inbound, outbound, and international shipments
• Negotiate agreements and cultivate robust relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, and third-party logistics providers
• Manage transportation planning, routing, and scheduling to maximize delivery efficiency and cost savings
• Ensure adherence to applicable regulations, safety protocols, and customs requirements
• Lead a cross-functional team, promoting collaboration, enhancing performance, and supporting career growth
• Track freight key performance indicators, analyze trends, and drive ongoing process improvements
• Work collaboratively with procurement, warehouse, sales, and customer service teams to maintain fluid supply chain operations

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in freight management, supply chain operations, or logistics leadership roles
• Proven experience managing expansive freight and transportation operations
• In-depth knowledge of freight forwarding, shipping regulations, and customs clearance procedures
• Strong skills in negotiation, vendor management, and engaging stakeholders effectively
• Demonstrated leadership in building and guiding highly effective teams
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with an emphasis on operational efficiency
• Familiarity with logistics software and freight management platforms is advantageous
• Preferred fluency in both Arabic and English
