Head of Strategic Sourcing

Position Overview

A dynamic regional company seeks a Head of Strategic Sourcing to steer the procurement strategy across its varied businesses. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this leadership role encompasses oversight of significant expenditures spanning technology, operational equipment, logistics, and corporate services. The primary objectives include lowering costs, enhancing supplier performance, managing commercial risks, and establishing uniform procurement standards across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate sourcing strategies covering technology, operational, and corporate service categories.
• Manage supplier selection processes, including tenders, proposal assessments, and commercial negotiations.
• Negotiate pricing structures, payment terms, service commitments, and long-term supplier agreements.
• Conduct detailed company-wide spend analyses to uncover cost-saving, consolidation, and avoidance opportunities.
• Develop strategic supplier partnerships and perform regular performance assessments.
• Monitor supplier delivery, quality, and service metrics, resolving any issues promptly.
• Recognize supplier and supply chain risks and set up effective contingency plans.
• Implement consistent procurement policies, spending controls, and approval workflows.
• Collaborate with Finance and Legal teams on contract management, renewals, and compliance matters.
• Drive the deployment of procurement systems, reporting tools, and process enhancements.
• Engage cross-functional teams including business units, technology, engineering, operations, HR, and commercial to align purchasing needs.
• Lead and nurture the growth of the sourcing and procurement team.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain roles.
• At least five years serving in managerial or leadership roles.
• Demonstrated experience managing procurement within regional or multinational environments.
• Proven expertise in negotiating high-value commercial contracts.
• Competence in designing sourcing strategies across diverse spending categories.
• Deep understanding of supplier management, contract negotiation, cost control, and procurement governance.
• Strong analytical ability with experience in financial and spending data interpretation to inform commercial choices.
• Familiarity with procurement technologies, ERP systems, Excel, and business intelligence tools.
• Possession of a bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Engineering, or cognate fields.
• Experience within sectors such as technology, retail, hospitality, SaaS, or multi-business environments is preferred.
• Advantageous to hold a master’s degree, MBA, or professional procurement certifications.
