Job description

Role Overview

Kooth Digital Health is hiring a Head of Financial Planning & Analysis to report to the Chief Financial Officer and play a central role in senior finance leadership.

This position is based in London Paddington with on-site attendance required Tuesday to Thursday, while Monday and Friday are worked remotely.

About the Company

Kooth is a rapidly expanding digital mental health organisation focused on delivering accessible, welcoming, and effective support. The company is listed on the London Stock Exchange and supports more than 20 million people across the UK and US through digital services that aim to improve mental wellbeing and widen access to care.

In the UK, Kooth is the largest digital mental health provider and works closely with the NHS. In the US, the business is scaling quickly through partnerships with states, health systems, educational institutions, and other organisations to reach a wide range of communities with evidence-based support.

As the company grows internationally, it is continuing to invest in solutions that help individuals obtain timely support and enable organisations and communities to create healthier, more resilient populations.

What You Will Do

You will lead proactive, insight-led financial planning across the business, owning budgeting and forecasting end to end while providing commercial analysis that supports confident decision-making and long-term growth.

  • Build and run a high-quality planning and forecasting capability with strong accuracy, speed, and practical insight.
  • Take ownership of annual budgets and monthly rolling forecasts across the UK and US businesses.
  • Provide independent challenge and strategic input on major initiatives and investment cases.
  • Prepare detailed monthly board reporting that compares actuals with budgets and forecasts, highlights trends, and recommends actions.
  • Run monthly performance reviews with senior leaders, helping them review variances, monitor cross-functional KPIs, and stay accountable to targets.
  • Work closely with department heads and the executive team to control spend, improve performance, and deliver strategic priorities.
  • Act as the main finance partner for the Chief Commercial Officer and the Commercial team, turning commercial plans and expansion strategies into financial outcomes.
  • Review and stress-test the commercial pipeline in Salesforce/CRM tools.
  • Use weighted probabilities, sales-cycle analysis, and conversion metrics to strengthen revenue forecasting and capacity planning.
  • Assess, model, and approve commercial proposals, complex enterprise contracts, tiered subscription structures, and regional risk-sharing pricing models.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing FP&A and business partnering team.
  • Contribute actively to the senior leadership group and promote commercial discipline, financial rigor, and strategic agility across the organisation.

What We Are Looking For

  • Advanced financial modelling and forecasting capability, with strong Excel and Google Sheets expertise.
  • Solid experience in FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
  • Strong analytical ability and confidence working with large, complex datasets.
  • Hands-on use of AI tools, automation, and AI-enabled workflows to improve planning, reporting, analysis, and decisions.
  • Experience identifying and delivering process improvements that create efficiency and business value.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to partner effectively with senior leaders.
  • Confidence to challenge executives constructively and offer independent commercial views.
  • Commercial judgement and strategic thinking.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and resilient in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to work effectively across UK and US teams and time zones.
  • Strong prioritisation skills and comfort managing competing demands during busy planning and reporting periods.
  • Degree-level graduate with strong academic performance.
  • 8+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Proven background leading FP&A or commercial finance teams.
  • Experience in SaaS, digital health, tech, high-growth listed companies, or private equity-backed environments.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary of £90,000 to £100,000.
  • 28 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Yearly professional development programmes tailored to career goals.
  • Pension contributions and annual company share option awards.
  • AXA private medical cover and access to an Employee Assistance Programme with 24/7 telephone mental health support and GP consultations.
  • Life assurance of up to four times annual salary.
  • Incapacity income protection for added financial security.
