Role Overview
The Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) at NHS Supply Chain plays a pivotal role in guiding the organisation's financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and performance evaluation. This leadership position ensures alignment between strategic objectives, financial planning, and operational execution, ultimately maximising value for the NHS.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop the FP&A team to enhance their performance and capabilities.
- Ensure organisational strategies are supported by comprehensive and integrated financial plans facilitating robust long-term decision-making.
- Deliver insightful analyses to enhance the understanding of performance, risks, and strategic trade-offs at executive and board levels.
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes, promoting accountability and ensuring achievement of financial and operational targets.
- Produce succinct and accurate reporting to support confident, evidence-based decision-making by leadership.
- Evaluate major investments and transformation initiatives for strategic fit and cost-effectiveness.
- Strengthen financial expertise throughout the organisation and position Finance as a strategic partner.
- Identify and manage financial risks and opportunities, driving improvements in data quality, processes, and insights.
- Contribute actively to organisational culture and enterprise-wide change initiatives through financial leadership.
