About the Role

A rapidly expanding, private equity-backed technology-driven firm based in Central London is seeking a Group Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). This senior role entails professionalizing and scaling the FP&A function to suit a PE-backed entity approaching an exit. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving value creation across the organization.

The company is entering a vital stage focused on developing a high-performing, scalable finance team to support its ambitious growth targets. Key goals include improving performance transparency, enhancing decision-making, and establishing a proactive finance capability in line with investor requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a best-in-class FP&A team reporting directly to the Group CFO.
  • Transform FP&A from reactive historical reporting to forward-thinking predictive insights.
  • Implement consistent monthly forecasting processes and performance reviews.
  • Create detailed, bottom-up financial models and support long-term strategic planning.
  • Ensure the business remains prepared for transactions at all times.
  • Play a crucial role in M&A activities, debt financing, and exit preparations.
  • Provide high-quality financial insights to investors, lenders, and board members.
  • Manage relationships with debt providers and assist in refinancing when needed.
  • Lead finance transformation initiatives emphasizing data integration, automation, and AI deployment.

Candidate Profile

  • Must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar).
  • Demonstrable FP&A leadership experience within private equity-backed companies.
  • Proven success in building or transforming FP&A functions.
  • Strong commercial understanding with the ability to convert data into strategic guidance.
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, and preferably exit readiness processes.
  • Familiarity with financial planning and visualization tool implementation.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence senior and board-level stakeholders.
