Role Overview

The Head of Finance position is a part-time role located onsite in Philadelphia, PA, responsible for leading the financial division. This role is essential for financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and performing in-depth financial analysis to aid strategic corporate decisions. Daily duties involve managing the preparation and review of financial statements, overseeing month-end and year-end closing procedures, and ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of financial reports.

The individual in this role will collaborate with executive leadership to formulate budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial strategies, closely tracking performance versus goals. Other key functions include strengthening internal controls, supporting audit processes, enhancing cash flow management, advising on capital expenditure decisions, and leading the finance team to comply with relevant regulations in the aviation sector.

Qualifications

  • A solid foundation in core financial functions, especially finance and budgeting, with demonstrable experience in financial planning and analysis within complex organizations.
  • Expertise in preparing and reviewing financial statements and reports, ensuring correctness, regulatory compliance, and clarity for senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical abilities to interpret financial data, detect patterns, and offer insights that inform business strategy.
  • Proven leadership in managing or directing finance teams, with skills in mentoring employees and establishing efficient financial controls and processes.
  • Familiarity with accounting standards, regulations, and proficiency with ERP and financial management platforms.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a track record of effective collaboration across functional teams and executive levels.
  • Required educational background includes a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related disciplines; advanced certifications such as CPA, CFA, or an MBA are preferred.
  • Experience or background in the aviation, aerospace, or similar regulated industries is advantageous.
