Role overview
A leading financial services business in Dublin is hiring a Head of Finance to take ownership of the finance function and contribute as a senior leadership team member. The role focuses on robust governance, reliable controls, and dependable financial stewardship across the organisation.
You will work closely with senior leaders and the internal finance team to strengthen financial planning, track performance, and support wider commercial growth.
Key responsibilities
- Direct the finance team and ensure accounting, reporting, control, and governance standards remain consistently strong.
- Manage the month-end process, maintain balance sheet accuracy, and oversee reconciliations and ledger integrity.
- Keep financial activity aligned with accounting policies, internal control frameworks, and governance obligations.
- Own statutory, tax, management, and performance reporting, with a focus on accuracy and timely delivery.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors and internal assurance teams.
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and wider planning cycles.
- Provide clear analysis, financial interpretation, and constructive challenge to inform decisions and support business cases.
- Review financial performance and contribute to commercial decision-making.
- Maintain a sound financial control environment, including risk and governance reporting.
- Manage, coach, and develop the finance team through recruitment, succession planning, and capability building.
- Encourage strong collaboration between finance and the broader business.
Requirements
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent credential.
- Extensive senior finance leadership background, ideally gained in financial services or another regulated setting.
- Prior holding of PCF 11.
- Solid expertise in financial control, financial reporting, and/or FP&A.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, grow, and support high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Experience working in regulated or well-controlled governance environments.

The position is based in Dublin and follows a hybrid working model. Compensation is a competitive salary depending on experience, along with benefits and a discretionary bonus.
