About the Role
Orena Fragrances is hiring a Head of Finance and Business Intelligence to establish, own, and grow the company’s finance function. In this position, you will create the systems, reporting structure, forecasting framework, and analytical approach that guide critical decisions across the business.
You will work closely with the Founder and department heads to drive financial planning, evaluate business performance, assess costs and investments, improve profitability, and support profitable scale. Orena places strong emphasis on making every dollar count, so this role is centered on using data to improve results across product costs, inventory, operating spend, marketing, creator collaborations, and new launches.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead company-wide financial planning and forecasting.
- Build and manage budgets across all departments.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and broader financial plans.
- Create financial models for new initiatives, hiring, product launches, and growth investments.
- Analyze overall company profitability and performance.
- Review product-level margins and SKU-level profitability.
- Support pricing decisions, promotion analysis, and profitability reviews.
- Study inventory costs and share purchasing recommendations.
- Recommend department budgets and guide resource allocation.
- Assess marketing profitability across Meta, Google, Email, SMS, Affiliate, Influencer, Organic Social, and other acquisition channels.
- Track key growth metrics such as CAC, LTV, MER, contribution margin, payback period, and marketing efficiency.
- Evaluate influencer, affiliate, and PR spend.
- Analyze launches, prepare post-launch reporting, and measure ROI.
- Deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly executive reporting.
- Develop KPIs and executive dashboards.
- Run weekly business performance reviews with department leaders and share strategic recommendations.

Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in finance, FP&A, or strategic finance within ecommerce or direct-to-consumer businesses is mandatory; candidates without direct ecommerce finance experience will not be considered.
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline is required; an MBA or CPA is an added advantage but not essential.
- Hands-on experience owning financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis for an ecommerce company.
- Direct experience working with marketing teams to assess acquisition costs, marketing efficiency, and return on investment across paid and owned channels.
- Strong understanding of ecommerce metrics such as contribution margin, gross margin, net margin, CAC, LTV, MER, ROAS, payback period, AOV, and retention.
- Exposure to performance analysis across Meta, Google, Email, SMS, Affiliate, Influencer, and Organic channels.
- Experience creating executive dashboards, KPI scorecards, and financial reports for leadership.
- Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets skills with solid financial modeling ability.
- Experience using Shopify and ecommerce analytics platforms.
- Preferred exposure to Triple Whale, Klaviyo, GA4, Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, Postscript, or similar tools.
- Experience in inventory planning, product profitability analysis, and pricing strategy.
- Strong analytical thinking, strategic judgment, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to turn financial analysis into clear business recommendations.
- Highly organized, detail-focused, and capable of building systems and processes in a rapidly growing business.
- Prior work with consumer products, beauty, skincare, fragrance, cosmetics, apparel, or other inventory-based DTC brands is strongly preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay ranges from $90,000 to $130,000 per year, based on experience.
- Quarterly performance bonuses are included.
