About the Position
Based in Bielefeld, Germany, with a hybrid work model, the Head of Finance EMEA role places you in a key position to influence commercial strategies and decision-making processes within Sea to Summit's EMEA region, a reputable private equity-backed international brand. You will partner closely with the General Manager EMEA as a trusted financial co-pilot, playing a critical role in driving growth phases across diverse functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate extensively (approximately 80% of your efforts) with commercial departments including sales, marketing, and category management to provide insightful analysis on performance, margin optimization, pricing strategies, investment decisions, and growth potential.
- Ensure robust financial discipline (about 20% focus) by overseeing local financial governance, coordinating with auditors, and ensuring stringent financial controls despite global centralized accounting, consolidation, and statutory reporting.
- Exercise significant autonomy and maintain visibility by reporting directly to the General Manager EMEA and functionally to the Global CFO.
Candidate Profile
- Possess over a decade of experience in finance, preferably within consumer-facing industries.
- Demonstrate strong commercial finance expertise and business partnership skills.
- Have a solid foundation in financial controlling, accounting, or auditing.
- Show proven ability to influence executive leadership effectively.
- Be highly self-motivated and comfortable working independently within regional or international setups.
- Exhibit excellent teamwork and collaboration abilities, critical for success in this environment.
- Embrace a growth-focused mindset with passion for scaling high-potential businesses.
- Have a personal passion for outdoor activities or prior experience in the outdoor industry.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English is essential, with German language skills viewed as an advantage.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual gross salary ranging from €140,000 to €160,000, including holiday allowances.
- Performance bonus amounting to 15% of annual salary.
- An annual gear allowance of €1,000 for outdoor equipment.
Company Background
Founded in Perth, Australia in 1991, Sea to Summit is a globally recognized outdoor equipment brand that markets its products in over 70 countries.
