Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, commercially focused Head of Facilities & Maintenance to lead our operational transformation journey within Ireland. This role surpasses traditional maintenance leadership, requiring a visionary operator passionate about enhancing efficiency, safety, and scalability across a multi-site portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of facilities and technical engineering services across multiple locations.
  • Initiate operational excellence by refining asset performance and maintenance strategies.
  • Enhance contractor and vendor management to elevate service quality and accountability.
  • Lead transformational projects to adopt smarter, scalable operational methods, reducing reactive maintenance and costs.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs and asset lifecycle planning.
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory, health, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, and capital expenditure to optimize financial outcomes.
  • Utilize operational data and insights to drive continuous improvement and impactful business outcomes.
  • Conduct incident investigation, risk assessment, and enforce corrective actions to maintain safety.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with internal teams and external partners to support seamless delivery.
  • Create a culture emphasizing ownership, accountability, innovation, and high performance within the Facilities & Maintenance teams.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members to ensure engagement and service excellence.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum five years’ leadership experience in facilities, maintenance, engineering, or technical operations, ideally within hospitality, commercial, industrial, or multi-site settings.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with a talent for motivating and developing teams in fast-paced environments.
  • A proactive mindset focused on challenging existing methods and implementing innovative solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of facilities management, building services, maintenance operations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in asset management, lifecycle planning, and preventative maintenance at scale.
  • Commercial acumen encompassing budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and CAPEX management.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities, including root cause analysis and sustainable problem resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage contractors and vendors effectively to maintain high standards.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to foster trusted relationships across organizational levels.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing tasks, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
  • Recognized qualifications such as a degree, diploma, or trade certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, Facilities Management, or related disciplines.
  • Professional certifications like IWFM, BIFM, IHEEM or equivalents are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and asset management software is highly beneficial.
