Head of Enterprise Architecture, Cloud and Data Platforms

Overview

As the custodian of CIMB Singapore's IT Blueprint, this role leads the formulation and implementation of architecture strategies focused on Cloud, Data, and AI technologies. You will oversee IT asset design, ensure alignment with security and regulatory frameworks, and guide the bank's Cloud adoption and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive and oversee the strategic direction of Enterprise Architecture with specialization in Cloud, Data, and AI at CIMB Singapore.
• Develop and implement IT blueprints and architectural plans that align with business needs and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure prioritization of high-impact projects matched with appropriate resources through demand management.
• Manage annual budgeting related to transformation initiatives.
• Lead efforts to adopt Cloud technologies and DevOps methodologies across the bank.
• Collaborate closely with business units to interpret project requirements and align technology solutions accordingly.
• Provide expert advisory to unit heads and IT leadership on architectural and technological decisions concerning Cloud, Data, and AI.
• Lead and mentor teams comprising Enterprise and Solution Architects, Cloud Engineers, and Data & AI specialists.
• Implement governance frameworks for architecture and solutioning, ensuring adherence to group policies and operational procedures.
• Maintain up-to-date SOPs, conduct continuous industry best practice assessments, and foster a culture of incremental improvement and knowledge sharing.
• Manage vendor relationships, ensuring contractual commitments are met, and identify training needs to retain talent.
• Ensure strict compliance with MAS Technology Risk Management Guidelines, MAS Notices (FSM-N05, FSM-N06, MAS 658), Outsourcing Guidelines, and internal IT security policies.
• Actively participate in high-complexity projects requiring deep technical and business expertise across multiple domains.
• Represent CIMB Singapore in group architecture working groups and provide regular management updates.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or related quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Professional certifications related to AWS Cloud, architecture frameworks such as Zachman, TOGAF or IEEE 1471, as well as Agile, DevOps, or PMP, are advantageous.
• At least 8 years in Data or AI-focused roles with team management experience.
• Minimum of 8 years working with AWS or similar hyperscaler cloud technologies in engineering or leadership roles.
• Over 15 years of experience in IT management or team leadership in large-scale software projects, preferably within the financial sector.
• Significant leadership experience in large data, cloud, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Strong background as a senior or lead architect deploying enterprise business applications and technology architectures.
• Experience deploying Cloud landing zones and managing workload migration to Cloud environments for 5 years or more.
• Banking and financial services experience is preferred.
