Job description
Role overview
Lead engineering for a seed-stage cloud financial data platform backed by Heavybit and Uncork Capital. The product processes hundreds of millions of rows each month and serves complex billing and data needs for large enterprise customers.
What you will own
You will be responsible for both the technical direction and the day-to-day execution of the engineering function. This includes shipping code regularly, guiding architecture, and helping the team scale while maintaining a strong engineering culture.
Core responsibilities
- Drive the technical roadmap and keep the team moving at a high shipping pace by contributing directly to the codebase and clearing engineering blockers.
- Build and refine data infrastructure with Python, ClickHouse, and Airflow so it can handle dramatic growth in data volume and complexity.
- Hire, coach, and develop engineers while shaping a high-performing, product-minded team.
What the company is building
A cloud financial data platform designed to solve large-scale billing, data cardinality, and multi-cloud challenges for Fortune 500 customers.
Why this opportunity stands out
- Backed by $7.75M in new funding and supported by a built-in audience of 35,000 AWS community members plus relationships with Fortune 100 companies.
- The product strategy is informed by seven years of domain expertise, with an opportunity in a $47B total addressable market.
- You will have a high degree of ownership, help define technical standards from scratch, and work in a transparent, low-politics environment.
Candidate profile
The right person has already operated as a Director, VP, or founder and is comfortable in early-stage ambiguity while still staying hands-on technically. Strong experience with data infrastructure, large ETL/ELT systems, and datasets with extremely high cardinality is important. Interest in AI-assisted development and in building product-focused engineering teams is also valued.
Hiring process
The next step is an introductory conversation with Jack.
