Job description
Role overview
The Head of ECommerce Business Performance will own the end-to-end performance story across traffic, conversion, and sales. The role ensures every market and channel is viewed through a shared, forward-looking lens so the business can make better decisions and move faster. It is focused on enabling the organisation, improving accountability, and turning insights into action across the e-commerce function.
Forecasting and business modelling
- Take full responsibility for weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasts covering traffic, conversion, and revenue by market and channel.
- Develop scenario models to assess business impacts such as weaker acquisition, improved site speed, or stock availability issues.
- Bring together inputs from Marketing, CRM, DXDC, Business Planning, and Operations into one coherent operating model.
- Spot risks or upside early and escalate them with practical recommendations.
Performance monitoring
- Create and manage a single KPI framework across the full funnel from See to Find to Buy to Repeat.
- Monitor performance across markets and channels, with emphasis on leading indicators rather than only final results.
- Identify shifts or gaps early and convert them into clear business insights.
- Work closely with Data and BI teams to keep dashboards, metrics, and definitions aligned, dependable, and usable.
- Lead the performance narrative for weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews.
Action follow-through and cross-functional alignment
- Make sure every insight results in defined actions, assigned owners, and agreed timelines.
- Constructively challenge teams and push execution when required.
- Track initiatives through to completion and measure the business impact they deliver.
- Align stakeholders across Paid Marketing, CRM, Merch Planning, CRO, UI/UX, Product, and Operations.
- Maintain one consistent source of truth across all business discussions and forums.
Governance and business cadence
- Co-lead the weekly e-commerce performance meeting.
- Prepare insight packs and action frameworks for monthly and quarterly business reviews.
- Keep forums focused on root causes and decision-making instead of status reporting.
- Track how initiatives contribute toward revenue and conversion goals.
- Support alignment on major commercial moments and high-priority corrective actions.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in e-commerce, retail, retail analytics, or a closely related field.
- Background working across functions in a fast-moving, multi-country digital business.
- Strong track record in forecasting, modelling, business analysis, or digital performance optimisation.
- Working knowledge of tools such as GA4, Looker, Power BI, SFCC, Amplitude, or similar platforms.
- Solid understanding of e-commerce KPIs including traffic mix, bounce rate, conversion rate, funnel depth, AOV, CLTV, CAC, and MER.
- Ability to organise information clearly, build models, and interpret data accurately.
- Comfort with diplomatically challenging teams to drive better outcomes.
- Strong commercial judgement with a structured and analytical approach.
- Confident communicator who can influence without formal authority.
- Action-oriented mindset with the ability to convert insights into execution.
- High sense of ownership and accountability, with the ability to perform well in ambiguity.
- Proactive and curious, with a desire to improve processes and results.
