About Us
Notion is a collaborative AI-driven workspace designed to unite teams and agents, creating an integrated environment where knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools coexist seamlessly. Serving millions of users ranging from individuals and small teams to large enterprises, Notion champions efficient, clear, and unified work experiences. Our employees, known as Notinos, embody our commitment to craftsmanship, lasting solutions, and the human element of work. Our vision goes beyond feature releases; we aim to redefine how people collaborate in the AI age by building business systems, managing AI agents, and automating routine tasks to free time for meaningful work.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Head of Early Career Recruiting to take full ownership of and expand our early talent acquisition strategy across Notion. Having established a strong foundation on the engineering front, this role aims to broaden our early career engagement across all business units. This position partners with company leaders, academic communities, and the wider talent ecosystem to attract emerging professionals who demonstrate strong skills and align with our values. The ideal candidate sets high standards, possesses thorough understanding of early career recruitment—covering university hiring, internship conversion, and pipelines—and embraces AI-driven processes to enhance recruiting effectiveness.
This role is based in San Francisco, with office presence required on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays to support collaborative work.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead a comprehensive global early career recruitment strategy encompassing internship programs, new graduate hires, and early-in-career talent across departments and geographies.
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of early career recruiters, maintaining consistent standards of excellence.
- Advise business leaders strategically by providing market insights, early career compensation trends, and expert perspectives on emerging talent from campus and first-job stages.
- Champion the integration of AI tools, workflows, and automation throughout the early career recruiting function to improve sourcing, assessment, and hiring efficiency.
- Design and refine programs, procedures, and infrastructure to ensure swift hiring without compromising quality, including internship structure, conversion strategies, offer processes, and intern-to-full-time pipelines.
- Define and monitor key early career recruitment metrics such as conversion rates, quality of hires, sourcing channels, and time-to-offer, leveraging data to inform decisions.
- Collaborate with marketing storytelling teams to enhance employer branding targeted at early talent segments, positioning Notion as a leading destination for emerging professionals.
- Work closely with Notion's Ambassador Program to foster community engagement, transform advocates into recruitment pipelines, and nurture strong relationships leading to hires.
Required Qualifications
- Over four years of leadership experience in recruiting focused on early career talent, including university recruiting, internship initiatives, new graduate pipelines, and early-in-career hiring across diverse functions.
- Innovative understanding of modern approaches to attract and evaluate emerging talent, such as challenge-based assessments and work trials, with eagerness to adapt as market trends evolve.
- Proven success building and scaling high-performing early career recruitment teams and programs within fast-paced, rapidly growing organizations.
- Highly proactive strategic operator comfortable leading both high-level talent strategy discussions and tackling intense recruiting periods.
- Strong analytical skills demonstrated by data-driven decisions related to funnel effectiveness, program return on investment, and team results.
- Respected advisor to senior leadership, leveraging market knowledge and credibility to influence program investments and executive hiring choices.
- Authentic enthusiasm for AI-enabled recruitment processes, with experience adopting and promoting new AI tools and workflows within teams.
- In-depth knowledge of early career compensation benchmarks, talent market dynamics, and partnership frameworks, including universities, bootcamps, and relevant talent communities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in program management or talent development with a background in creating structured early career programs such as rotations and mentorships.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI to transform early career recruiting operations beyond tool usage—implementing workflows, adoption strategies, and raising functional standards.
- Track record in designing and implementing diversity recruitment initiatives targeting historically black colleges, community colleges, or underrepresented groups with measurable success.
- Extensive network within university recruiting, early career staffing, and campus talent communities.
Compensation and Additional Information

For those based in San Francisco or New York City, the estimated base salary ranges between $225,000 and $275,000 annually.
