Overview
ClarkeHopkinsClarke Architects is seeking a Head of Digital & Technology to direct and implement the firm’s technology vision. This senior role involves hands-on leadership, balancing strategic planning with operational delivery to build a scalable, cohesive, and commercially relevant technology ecosystem. Reporting to senior leadership and coordinating with internal teams, the incumbent will enhance systems, streamline workflows, and integrate emerging technologies including AI and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a technology strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Create actionable roadmaps covering systems, data, and digital platforms.
- Set governance frameworks and standards to guide technology decisions.
- Evaluate existing systems for inefficiencies, redundancies, and gaps.
- Enhance integration between design, operations, finance, and HR platforms.
- Lead initiatives for seamless data flow and improved reporting.
- Increase adoption and effectiveness of design technologies across multiple studios.
- Collaborate with studio leadership to implement better workflows and tools.
- Champion embedding AI and automation into daily tasks and workflows.
- Test and deploy new innovative tools that enhance productivity and capabilities.
- Supervise the Microsoft ecosystem (M365, Teams, SharePoint, Power Platform, Copilot) and IT infrastructure.
- Engage with managed service providers (MSPs) to ensure reliable and high-performing IT services.
- Oversee the Technical Support Coordinator to maintain responsive IT support practice-wide.
- Improve data accessibility and accuracy to support management decisions with insightful reporting.
- Manage vendor relationships and technology contracts to secure value-aligned services.
- Develop internal digital skills and promote adoption of new systems and processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Extensive leadership experience in technology roles such as Head of Technology, IT Lead, or Digital Lead.
- Expertise in technology strategy, system integration, or digital transformation projects.
- Background in mid-size organizations undergoing structural evolution.
- Strong capability in managing business systems and delivering practical tech solutions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft technologies and familiarity with cloud, cybersecurity, and modern workplace tools.
- Experience managing MSPs and external technology providers.
- Preferred experience in design-related or professional services environments.
