About the Opportunity

QPSC is looking for a Head of Department to provide leadership at campus level and across the full Pathways portfolio spanning nine campuses. This position is based at Bundamba Campus and focuses on strengthening curriculum quality, teaching practice, and learning outcomes, with a strong emphasis on careers and pathways, staff capability, and evidence-based practice.

The role contributes to both strategic improvement and day-to-day campus leadership, ensuring educational priorities stay aligned with the school’s direction and that students are supported to achieve strong learning results.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide the delivery and quality assurance of the Pathways Curriculum and Short Course Careers across all nine campuses.
• Work with teachers and leaders to plan, teach, assess, and moderate curriculum that meets QCAA expectations and suits a diverse student cohort.
• Use data on achievement, engagement, and wellbeing to spot patterns, support decisions, and improve outcomes.
• Collaborate with campus leaders and teaching teams to improve student pathways into further education, training, and employment.
• Develop and refine resources, assessments, and support materials to maintain consistency and quality across campuses.
• Encourage effective use of digital tools, including QLearn and other emerging technologies, to support learning and engagement.
• Assist with the leadership and daily operations of Bundamba Campus while reporting to the Head of Campus - Metro West.
• Manage student cases to support successful completion of the QCE.

• You demonstrate strong analytical and reflective thinking, using evidence and data to guide curriculum and school improvement.
• You have well-developed organisational and leadership skills, including the ability to manage human, financial, and physical resources to achieve goals.
• You promote a positive professional culture built on ethics, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• You have an interest in modern and digital pedagogy, including platforms such as QLearn and emerging technologies.

Desirable Knowledge

Knowledge of QCE requirements, senior QCAA subjects and related processes, as well as VET curriculum and compliance requirements, is highly desirable.
