Role overview

Everton Park State High School is looking for an energetic and committed Head of Department to provide leadership across Humanities and Languages. The role is focused on strengthening teaching practice, encouraging fresh ideas, and improving student learning outcomes.

This appointment is temporary and full-time through 11 December 2026, unless the employer decides otherwise. Applicants with an Economics and Business Studies background will be preferred.

Role focus

The position includes responsibility for Humanities and LOTE. You will guide the design, delivery, and review of an engaging and demanding curriculum that aligns with departmental priorities and helps every student achieve at their best.

You will also help build a positive and inclusive learning environment with strong expectations, where students are supported, challenged, and equipped with the skills they need for future success.

Application requirements

Applicants must provide a brief resume that includes the contact details of two referees who understand their relevant work history. A two-page written statement responding to the attached role description is also required, along with a copy of the mandatory qualifications and/or registration listed in the role description.

Additional information

The successful applicant will be expected to take oversight of both Humanities and LOTE within the role.
