What the role involves

• Direct the department’s curriculum priorities in line with school and departmental initiatives.
• Contribute to the delivery of the vision for Early Childhood and State Schools Division.
• Improve the quality of teaching and learning across the department.
• Support strong, positive relationships among students, teachers, and other stakeholders.
• Teach, demonstrate, and implement the Australian Curriculum, with the ability to lead Mathematics, Science, and Health and Physical Education.

Responsibilities

The Department Head will be expected to lead the team toward a shared goal of better student learning results, maintain high expectations, and encourage inclusive, high-quality practice for both students and staff. The role also includes building effective partnerships with families, colleagues, and the broader community, providing leadership that aligns with departmental requirements and school priorities, managing staff and departmental resources, and setting an example through ongoing professional learning and improvement.
