Job description
Role overview
A large services business operating across the UK and Ireland is hiring a new leadership position to transform how reporting and insights are delivered. The organisation is in the middle of a major Microsoft Fabric cloud data platform rollout and needs someone who can create a central reporting and insights function from the ground up, while also helping shape the governance approach going forward.
What you will own
- Set the enterprise reporting direction and establish consistent standards across the business, excluding finance.
- Shift reporting away from a fragmented, reactive model toward a reliable, standardised, insight-driven approach, with scope to evolve into predictive and AI-supported insights.
- Design shared KPIs, data definitions, and governance practices, and address existing issues around data access and security.
- Act as the main owner for reporting requests, demand management, and prioritisation.
- Set up and lead a reporting and analytics team, which does not exist at present.
- Deliver insights and recommendations directly to senior leaders and executive audiences.
What they are looking for
- Proven experience at Head of or senior leadership level in reporting, business intelligence, analytics, or performance management.
- Strong background in shaping enterprise-wide reporting strategy and introducing standardisation in large, complex organisations.
- Ability to influence confidently at C-suite and board level, with evidence of impacting strategic decision-making.
- Exposure to Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and Databricks, along with leadership in data lake or data platform transformation programmes.
- A fresh point of view is encouraged, with a willingness to question existing ways of working and improve them.
