Role purpose

This position exists to turn an already solid data foundation into a trusted company-wide asset. Numa has expanded to 40 cities in Europe in six years, and the next step is to move from data that is merely available to data that leadership can rely on for commercial decisions. The role also supports the migration of data still trapped in spreadsheets into a shared, governed foundation.

The work is not just technical. The role is intended to raise data literacy across the organisation, help department leaders self-serve their numbers, and ensure that data becomes part of everyday decision-making rather than something handled only by a central team. It also strengthens the company’s AI analytics efforts by making the underlying data accurate, governed, and dependable enough to be genuinely AI-ready.

What you will own

• Partner with functions such as Finance, Real Estate, HR, and Growth to understand their business needs and convert them into a durable data strategy.
• Improve data quality, governance, and trust so leaders can make decisions from a single reliable source rather than checking multiple versions.
• Help consolidate remaining spreadsheet-based data into the shared warehouse foundation.
• Shape the direction of the data architecture by deciding what each layer is for, what should be tested, and what should be adopted, changed, or retired.
• Work as the strategic counterpart to the Data Engineering lead, challenging and pressure-testing architecture choices without owning platform execution yourself.
• Strengthen data literacy across the organisation so teams can use trusted data confidently and independently.
• Make AI analytics robust by ensuring the data model, governance, and quality standards are strong enough to support dependable use cases.

• Strong senior-level understanding of the modern data stack, including the role of a semantic layer and a warehouse, plus the ability to compare and defend different stack options.
• Proven experience translating business needs into data models and long-lasting structures by working closely with non-technical stakeholders.
• A history of improving data maturity through better quality, governance, trust, and consolidation of siloed data sources.
• Comfort with making AI data dependable by treating clean, governed data as the foundation for reliable analytics.
• Ability to engage credibly with senior commercial leaders, including both general managers and C-level stakeholders.
