Job description
About Circonomit
We are building a groundbreaking decision infrastructure that serves as the strategic counterpart to every complex industrial organization. Our technology allows for mapping real-world operational constraints into computer-driven n-dimensional optimization models to enhance critical value-chain decisions. We focus on empowering European businesses, especially the German Mittelstand, to effectively navigate market changes involving orders, machine capacities, and personnel.
Founded by Dana (CEO) and Erik (CTO), based on RWTH Aachen research, and supported by a €2.8M investment led by Vorwerk Ventures, we have live customers leveraging our optimization models.
Role Overview
This leadership role owns end-to-end customer success in delivery, managing every process step within value creation. You will lead development projects, serve as the customer's primary contact, deeply understand use cases, and collaborate with researchers on solution implementation. More than a typical project manager or forward-deployed engineer, you will build and evolve the delivery function, refining Proof of Value processes, defining model requirements for internal advocates, identifying strategic delivery partners, and guiding hiring decisions for the delivery team.
The position involves significant responsibility, including taking ongoing manufacturing company projects live with real data and tangible results and advancing them beyond the founders' initial involvement.
Responsibilities
- Engage customers from initial contact, analyzing their decision problems live and developing initial mini models pre-sales.
- Lead development projects from start to finish with full ownership of outcomes, not just planning and coordination.
- Collaborate closely with modelers to design decision-grade, large-scale models using customer's data and industrial knowledge.
- Translate complex industrial realities—capacity, capital, lead times, delivery reliability, throughput—into structured optimization problems and present actionable results to management.
- Drive commercial success by converting Proofs of Value into paid onboarding pilots and enterprise contracts, supporting founders in sales and sustaining long-term value.
- Create and improve a scalable delivery playbook and build the delivery team for lasting impact.
Requirements
- A strong technical and analytical educational background such as engineering, computer science, data engineering, logistics, supply chain, or finance with operations research.
- Proficiency in handling complex, real-world datasets including ERP and Excel exports, with a keen eye for data inconsistencies.
- Experience in structuring fuzzy business challenges into quantitative models, defining objectives, levers, and necessary data independently.
- Minimum five years in industry or technical consulting with proven ownership of project outcomes, ideally combining modeling, data analysis, and client leadership.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with high efficiency and scalable organizational structure.
- Strong interpersonal skills for engaging multiple stakeholders, running client meetings, scoping problems in real-time, and winning customer commitment to pilots.
- Competency in financial and operational metrics—reading P&Ls, discussing OEE, inventory, and service levels with plant management while maintaining client satisfaction.
- Willingness to travel regularly across the DACH region for crucial on-site meetings, though most work occurs online.
- Fluency in German (C1 or higher) and English.
- Based in NRW (Cologne office), Munich, Stuttgart, Berlin, or open to hybrid working arrangements with flexibility.
Additional Characteristics
This role demands a highly structured, action-oriented individual who thrives under pressure and takes accountability for delivery outcomes without requiring extended preparation or delegation.
Benefits
- Meaningful impact with ownership of substantial value creation and direct leadership.
- Full responsibility for customer outcomes and scaling the delivery function without bureaucratic delays.
- Close collaboration with researchers, modellers, engineers, and company founders on equal footing.
- Direct exposure to key internal discussions and customer presentations.
- Rapid feedback cycles that support continuous learning and growth.
- Competitive salary with significant equity participation (VSOP) aligned with contribution and career progression.
Recruitment Process
The hiring process includes introductory calls with leadership, a live case exercise with preparation, and further team conversations both online and in person. Candidates have the opportunity to speak with current employees about the role candidly.
