Job description
About the Company
SKIMS is a solutions-focused apparel brand known for rethinking underwear, loungewear, shapewear, and everyday essentials with a blend of technical innovation, comfort, and refined design for all body types. The company operates at the crossroads of culture, innovation, and commerce, and its global teams are built around creativity, collaboration, and strong operational execution.
As the business continues to expand internationally, headquarters teams are central to setting strategy, building robust systems, and supporting long-term growth across markets.
The Opportunity
SKIMS is hiring a Head of Creative Production to lead production from start to finish. This senior role connects creative direction with execution, ensuring ambitious ideas are translated into campaigns, editorial, e-commerce, video, and social content. The role also includes leading the production effort for the high-profile NikeSkims collaboration.
You will manage producers and production coordinators, coordinate with a wide range of external partners, and create the processes needed to deliver premium creative work quickly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the complete production process across photo, video, digital campaign, and e-commerce projects, from initial brief to final handoff.
- Direct e-commerce production to maintain steady output, strong quality, and operational speed aligned with a fast-moving product calendar.
- Guide, coach, and expand an internal production team, while deciding when outside producers, studios, or vendors should be brought in.
- Build and maintain working relationships with photographers, directors, stylists, post-production partners, and other creative vendors.
- Coordinate talent and location logistics for major shoots, including celebrity and athlete talent with demanding schedules and contract needs.
- Work closely with Creative and Brand teams from early concept development through delivery, ensuring production enables bold ideas rather than limiting them.
- Ensure all creative output, from large campaign assets to fast-turn social content, reflects the SKIMS aesthetic and brand standards.
- Collaborate with creative leadership on staffing, production feasibility, and ways production decisions can strengthen the brand’s visual language.
- Act as the primary production lead for NikeSkims, overseeing campaign and content production for the partnership.
- Develop a trusted and collaborative relationship with Nike’s production and creative teams, working as a practical and respectful partner in a large-scale brand environment.
- Handle the approval flow, timelines, and operational needs of a co-branded partnership so both brand standards and creative goals are met.
- Align processes, workflows, and deliverable requirements with Nike counterparts while keeping communication proactive and efficient.
- Represent SKIMS professionally across planning, shoot execution, and final delivery stages.
- Review and improve production workflows continuously, identifying bottlenecks and building scalable systems as the brand grows.
- Create and manage production budgets across creative workstreams, making sure spending is controlled and appropriately allocated.
- Partner with marketing, creative, and brand teams to build timelines that protect creative quality while meeting aggressive launch deadlines.
- Ensure every production follows California labor laws, including crew classification, wage and hour compliance, and proper on-set working conditions.
- Work as the main production contact for Legal, identifying risks early and making sure contracts, releases, and usage rights are properly secured.
- Handle SAG-AFTRA-related requirements for union talent, including signatory compliance, session fees, residual tracking, and on-set working rules.
Experience and Expertise
This role requires 10+ years in creative production, including at least 3–4 years in a leadership position. Experience in fashion, beauty, or lifestyle brands is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate has delivered high-profile campaigns with celebrity or athlete talent, understands both large editorial-style productions and fast-paced e-commerce/digital content, and has worked on co-branded or licensed partnerships.
You should also bring strong knowledge of California labor law for commercial and fashion production, hands-on experience with SAG-AFTRA agreements, and comfort partnering with Legal on contracts, talent agreements, and risk management. A strong budget background and established relationships across the LA and NYC production ecosystem are important, along with calm problem-solving under pressure and a mindset focused on improving how work gets done.
What Makes This Role Stand Out
This position is for someone who wants to be deeply involved in execution, not someone who manages production from afar. SKIMS works quickly, maintains high standards, and creates work designed to stand out culturally. The role offers meaningful creative collaboration, the resources to build strong systems, and visibility into one of the most anticipated collaborations in fashion and sport.
