Job description
About the Role
Vodafone is looking for a senior corporate security leader to define and run the company’s security direction in a fast-changing risk environment. This role is responsible for protecting employees, customers, infrastructure and assets while supporting business resilience across a global telecommunications business.
You will operate at executive level, advising senior stakeholders with clear, practical recommendations that weigh risk, customer experience, regulatory duties and commercial priorities. The role also includes external representation with regulators, government authorities and law enforcement partners.
Key Accountabilities
You will own the end-to-end leadership of local corporate security operations and make sure the framework is effective, proportionate and aligned to business needs. The scope includes business resilience, crisis management, investigations, law enforcement liaison, physical security, travel security, event security, regulatory compliance and security culture.
The position involves leading the response to significant incidents and crises, ensuring decisions account for customer impact, regulatory exposure and brand reputation. You will keep senior leaders informed so that escalation happens quickly when required.
You will also improve how security operates by simplifying processes, introducing automation where appropriate, and strengthening controls, audits and assessments without adding unnecessary complexity. A further priority is creating and sharing practical best-practice guidance that can be adopted across the organisation.
Another major responsibility is building a stronger investigations capability, including a framework to help prevent internal fraud and provide insight-led recommendations to the business. You will also oversee supplier security where customer or company data is involved, making sure audits and compensating controls are in place when full compliance is not possible.
In addition, you will ensure corporate security meets legal and regulatory obligations, maintain effective relationships with government and law enforcement stakeholders, and provide quarterly updates to senior leadership covering performance, risks, improvements and priorities.
You will lead and develop a high-performing Corporate Security team, creating an inclusive environment where people are challenged, supported and grown. The role also requires strong day-to-day ownership of KPIs, deadlines, budgets, crisis support and regular engagement with executive stakeholders.
Who You Are
You are an experienced senior leader with a strong background in operational security, ideally gained in complex or regulated settings. You communicate confidently, influence effectively at all levels, and are comfortable working with executive stakeholders as well as regulators and law enforcement.
You can make balanced decisions in uncertain situations, manage risk calmly, and guide teams through incidents or crisis scenarios. You have experience building inclusive, high-performing teams and are comfortable driving change, simplifying workflows and introducing innovation or automation in operational environments.
You understand security governance, controls, audits and regulatory expectations, and you have experience with investigations and fraud prevention frameworks. You combine this with commercial awareness and the ability to align security spend with business priorities and risk appetite.
Experience in telecommunications or a similar sector is useful but not essential. A practical, solutions-led mindset is important, along with comfort in a role that includes executive reporting and on-call participation in crisis activity.
