Job description
About the Role
Becoming You Labs is hiring a Head of Content & Curriculum, Education to shape how the Becoming You methodology is taught across every touchpoint—inside the product, in formal learning programs, and through public-facing content. This role is responsible for turning the framework into educational experiences that span courses, curricula, scripts, blogs, newsletters, workbooks, program materials, guides, and in-app learning moments.
You will oversee the full lifecycle of educational content for audiences ranging from high school students to corporate learners. The work includes designing curriculum for students exploring identity, supporting parents and families, helping professionals navigate career reinvention, and creating materials for coaches who deliver the methodology in practice.
This is a hands-on builder position rather than a large-team management role. You will be expected to write, design, and produce much of the content yourself, while also working with freelancers and partnering closely with the CEO. The opportunity is best suited to someone who wants to define how a methodology is taught and experienced at scale.
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy, development, and execution of educational content and curriculum across all audiences, including high school, college, family, professional, and corporate learning contexts.
- Create content directly across multiple formats such as courses, lesson plans, workbooks, facilitation materials, scripts, blog articles, newsletters, program collateral, and assessments.
- Develop in-app learning experiences, including onboarding flows, guided sequences, and instructional touchpoints that help users interpret and act on their results.
- Build and keep current the curriculum for coaching and certification offerings, making sure the methodology remains consistent as the programs grow into new environments.
- Adapt the learning approach for different ages and stages while preserving one coherent framework.
- Direct a freelance network of writers, designers, and instructional experts by setting briefs, reviewing work, and maintaining a high standard for voice and quality.
- Work in close collaboration with the CEO to ensure the content reflects the brand voice and methodology in a warm, wry, direct, and values-driven way.
- Create reusable standards, templates, and systems that make the content consistent and scalable across products and programs.
- Track performance metrics such as engagement, completion, and learning outcomes, then refine the content based on what is effective.
Requirements
- Substantial experience developing educational content, curricula, or learning experiences, preferably for more than one audience or age group.
- Excellent writing ability with the skill to simplify complex ideas into clear, engaging, and practical language.
- Proven experience building courses or curricula from the ground up rather than only editing existing material.
- Comfort operating as a highly self-directed individual contributor who can scope, write, produce, and deliver work while coordinating freelancers as needed.
- Strong ownership mindset, with the ability to adapt quickly and prioritize outcomes over narrow tasks.
- Genuine enthusiasm for a mission centered on self-discovery, personal growth, and helping people understand what they are meant to do.
Preferred Background
- Experience in instructional design, learning science, or formal education.
- Exposure to both digital learning products and live or facilitated programs.
- Background in coaching, personal development, career development, or purpose-led work.
- Experience tailoring content for younger learners as well as adult and professional audiences.
Logistics
This is a full-time, onsite position based in New York, NY.
Compensation is competitive and aligned with experience. The employer is an equal opportunity organization and welcomes applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, including people whose path into this field has been unconventional.
